I look forward to using the Emirates chauffeur service on a future occasion. :) :tu:

For what it’s worth, I have noticed I now reliably get Addison Lee First service (A8) to / from Heathrow whilst Stansted is always the Executive service (A6), therefore I assume that the contract now has different terms for the different London airports.

From LGW it's always been the 'Executive' service for me, whether I fly J or F. Car is not always the same as the drivers are self employed and thus provide their own cars (at least that's what I understand). But they have always been higher end cars, clean and with water (and sometimes a newspaper) provided. can't fault them.

Yup, this is as Plat in F, I assume if you book J from LHR you also get 'Executive' service, but interesting that some combination of F and / or Plat gets First from LHR and not STN and LGW. Not that it makes that much of a difference!

Exactly! Life is too short and I have already experienced to much of it to stress about the difference between an A6 or A8 .

I'll Fly Dxb-Ams in F, but after I arrive, I have 2 meetings at the airport... takes 2 hours max... can I let the driver wait for me? Someone else had this situation too?

Not sure they will wait for 2 hours as they may have other pickups scheduled.

They won't wait, but when you get your confirmation 48 hrs before the flight, you should be able to contact them and arrange a later pick-up time. Because there are three flights a day into AMS, they will likely have a flexible system. But if you want a guarantee now, you will struggle. One, it is in their system and booked in. I understand (certainly in the UK) they have a degree of flexibility with things like that - but up until then, it is just tied to your booking arrival.

They wont be able to wait that long, but you can proactively contact them and ask for a later pickup time from the airport. I had a similar situation recently in DUB where upon landing i wanted to wait for my partner to arrive off a different flight, so i asked the EK chaufeur company could my pickup be 3 hours after arrival. They informed me that the drivers generally will be picking up and dropping off passengers for the EK inbound and outbound flights so they would work on the drivers schedule to find one that would have time to pick us up and still make it to his next job in time. They were grateful for the advance warning and did mention that it would be nearly impossible for the driver to have waited if i hadnt contacted in advance, as they are allocated blocks of time per job based on the distance to be transported

hey I had a kinda similar situation with Emirates F arriving into London a few months ago... had a quick meeting at the airport and didn’t want to rush out straight after landing.

I used CityandAirportCars (not Emirates’ chauffeur service tho) and just gave them a heads-up that I’d need the driver to wait about 90 mins after landing. they were super chill about it and said as long as I mention it at booking or give advance notice, they can work it into the schedule , even added 30 mins free waiting and just a small charge after that.

with Emirates' own chauffeur drive tho, I don’t think they’ll wait 2 hrs by default. like others said, you can try to schedule your pickup for later, but that has to be arranged before the 48hr cutoff or else you're stuck with the standard timing.

The user ‘cityairportcar’ used the service called ‘CityandAirportCars’. All those “I’s” are doing some very heavy lifting there 🙄

Hello all - Does a "First Flex Plus" reward qualify for Chaffeur Drive?
I know I had to check the "classic reward" search button in order to find the award.

Maybe all awards are "classic awards"? and thus do not include CD?

The Wiki for this thread does say "No CD for Classic Awards in First/Business".

thank you.

DYKWIA Jul 14, 2025 7:43 am

No reward flights get CD.

Extra distance when sharing a car

I happened to find this today, is it new? Could be useful to some!

Additional distance when you travel together
Travelling together? Share a Chauffeur‑drive car to travel up to 50% further on top of your complimentary distance for no extra fee. We’ll collect you and drop you off at the same address.
