Additional distance when you travel together
Travelling together? Share a Chauffeur‑drive car to travel up to 50% further on top of your complimentary distance for no extra fee. We’ll collect you and drop you off at the same address.

One of those rare true enhancements! It didn't make much sense to be told that you can take two cars, but neither car can go further than the normal limit.

Indeed. This is genuinely useful.

Would like to commend Emirates online chat assistance

Long story short, due for pick up in Johannesburg in 9 hours , no email, no phone call and no msg received. Since it's an early morning pick up I figure I better get some sort of double confirmation re the arrangement

The online assistant immediately got the service provider to msg me. Which happens to be Avis.

👍 very positive experience

For the GLA how late can you book the chaffeur? I have booked but am thinking of doing slightly earlier in case of traffic. But I have already received an Addison Lee confirmation, not sure if cancelling and rebooking will cause issues?

Don’t cancel.
Just call the number for Addison Lee that’s on your booking email. You’ll get their dedicated Emirates line. Make sure you have your booking number (in the same email). Ask to change the time. They are very helpful in my experience.

I think you need to rebook via Emirates first? Addison Lee may say they only have a cancellation on record. Could be wrong.

I have re-booked via Emirates, but I will tell Addison lee that it is just for the purposes of changing the time

An interesting question for this thread, will be happy to ask Emirates directly if there aren't direct experiences.

I've previously paid an additional surcharge to be picked up in Johor Bahru US$ 200 + distance fees for a departure from SIN.

Does anyone know if such a policy exists for a SZX flight if I'm in HK? SIN is explicitly stated, but SZX there is no text stating as such, however the distance is 80 km which definitely puts some HK locations within the "free" pickup zone.

two cars due to luggage?

This will be my first time using the chauffeur drive service. Two people flying in J, JFK-MXP.

We will have probably 3 medium-sized checked bags total plus our carry-ons. Is this a case where I should book two cars to be sure that our bags will fit? I didn't see an option when booking the cars on the Emirates website to request something larger.

Call/email/whatsapp chat to EK. They are able to send a larger car more like a V class if you tell them if you have like 3 pax but only want 1 of the three cars allowed, or have more luggage to boot.

Reluctance of drivers to use air conditioning (UK)

Has anyone else noticed the reluctance of drivers generally to turn the air conditioning on in the cars? Fan yes, but not the AC.
when I ask them they say that it is to save money as they aren't paid much by Emirates via Addison Lee.

My wife and I will be flying out of CDG on Emirates business class on December 26. This is our first time with Emirates.
We'll be staying at an airport hotel the night before the flight (Christmas!). Will Emirates allow us to take their chauffeur service to there then?
If it makes any difference, we'll be going there from Montparnasse station in Paris.

Thanks

No, not allowed. You can have them pick you up at the airport hotel and drop you off at the terminal on the 26th, might be kind of useless depending on the hotel you are staying at.
