Here another press release from Boston Herald:

EK will consider to upgrade from 77L to A380 sometime in near the future.

Or rather, Qantas cannot carry passengers solely between LAX and JFK. All passengers must either originate or terminate in Sydney.

Emirates to connect Oslo.

Emirates will expand its European network with a new daily flight to Oslo, Norway, from September 2 marking its third Scandinavian gateway.

Great stuff!

From the biggest european airports (by passenger numbers) only SVO (EK serves DME), ORY (EK serves CDG), AYT (leisure traffic), PMI (leisure traffic), TXL (no traffic rights), BRU, SAW (EK serves IST), STN, HEL, AGP (leisure traffic), VKO (EK serves DME), ESB, ADB not served by EK.

With regards to STN, you could of course argue that EK serves both LGW and LHR

Yes, but I think EK will go to STN (despite LHR and LGW) whereas they won't go to SVO, ORY or VKO. SAW could be as IST will be full within a few years.

And BOS-DXB were also full first two days. Got op-upped J-F, and I'd say they called like 6-10 names at the gate.

So does this mean EK took away pax from European airlines or is this new, stimulated demand?

It has to be both.

EK easily stimulated demand with pricing but took away from other options including connecting in Europe, JFK, EWR, IAD, etc.

There was also an interesting spring break deal to DXB from BOS.

So you had J and got bumped to F? Are they getting a lot of paid J and F for this route?
