Ah ok. Thank you.

EK used to fly twice daily to ATH some years before using EK103/104 and EK105/106.

Don't know why they are not using it again this time.

Really would be nice to have DXB-MAD-MEX or DXB-JFK-MEX, those 2 extension legs are always overbooked and I'm sure EK wouldn't have any problem to have a full plane in them too.

DXB-JFK-MEX cannot pickup passengers for the JFK-MEX leg due to Mexico-U.S. bilateral agreement. Its fairly strict - Two carriers from each nation on business/VFR routes (MEX, GDL, MLM) and three on the tourist routes (CUN PVR etc). There's no way in hell a gulf carrier gets traffic rights on it at this time.

Is this the flight that will eventually become an A380? going from a 77W to a 77L means they are actually reducing capacity right?

Would that also rule out this route mentioned a couple of pages back?

As ridiculous as the routing is they could fly the route assuming it meets any EU-Mexico arrangement and any UAE-Mexico agreement. EK just cannot carry passengers solely between US-Mexico.

It would be similar to the set up Qantas has flying SYD-LAX-JFK. They cannot carry people between LAX and JFK.

Heard an interesting bit of info the other day….

Dallas (DFW) will be going to an A-380 later this year! I didn't realize it had such good load factor to warrant this. We'll see….

That is consistent with the news that DFW is gearing up to be A380-capable later this year.

It still seems unlikely though. The route is still operated by a 77L, so a 388 would be a 'double-upgauge', so to speak. Plus trunk Indian routes have come in sideways on the 388 wait-list for this year (the Hyderabad airshow next week would be a well-timed announcement), so they're not going to have the luxury of many spare airframes.

Right, they have to installed double dual jetbridge for an A380. They need a wider taxiway and etc.

EK095/096 (2nd FCO flight) will see A380 operating from 16APR to 30APR iso 77W.

Moreover, an additional extra flight (EK 3095/3096) with 77W is scheduled to operate on 29APR between Dubai and Rome.

Emirates may fly A380 to Boston.

UAE-based airline starts 8th US destination from Monday.
