797 RR Engine Issues
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/19/b...op-cracks.html
Does anyone know if the Rolls Royce engines on the LY dreamliners are impacted by the latest issues? I have heard that newer versions of these engines are ok.

Well the LY 787 definitely have Rolls Royce Trent 1000-TEN engines, see https://www.flightglobal.com/news/ar...ice-de-423377/
However the Package C version is most affected, and I don't know if that is what LY have.
Since the service facilities are overwhelmed, (Air New Zealand has had to ground some planes, because unlike BA they don't have non-ETOPS routes to use them on).

Anybody know any media people who can check this out? Wondering if LY knows about it and is doing nothing because they haven't been forced to do so by the regulator.

the ten are not affected.
only package C with more than 300 cycles of service .
The problem is that they need to go into maintenance every 300 cycles, down from1200

Not sure why, but EL AL has delayed both EWR-bound flights on Wednesday and Thursday, as well as for Friday morning. And I believe also at least one on Tuesday

Tuesday 12 June
EDB operated LY 27/28 on time.
EDD operated LY 25/26 on time.
Wednesday 13 June
EDA missed the curfew to depart LY 27 to EWR so took off at 0500 instead. Inbound LY 26 was on time.
EDB operated LY 25/26 on time.
EDC arrived on time from HKG but then stayed on the ground instead of operating LY 27 the next day.
EDD operated LY 75 to HKG on time.
Thursday 14 June
EDA returned as LY 28 from EWR on time. It was scheduled to operate LY 25 but instead operated a delayed LY 27 and a slightly-late LY 28.
EDB returned as LY 26 from EWR on time. It was scheduled to operate LY 75 but instead operated a delayed LY 25 and will return as a very late LY 26.
EDC has not flown.
EDD operating LY 78 from HKG on time.
It looks like ECC (a 772) will operate LY 75 tonight. I'm guessing it was planned to operate LY 27 on Friday.
Friday 15 June
LY 27 is scheduled as a 772, but the next available aircraft is ECB returning from LHR as LY 318. I'm guessing LY 27 will be delayed to ~0700.

The pilots are doing "pirate strikes" - calling in sick, not being available, creating fake delays.
They've re-opened the circus from last year.
The poor bubelles, the highest paid commercial pilots in the world, refuse to increase their cockpit hours commiserate to industry standards and are also insisting on working one-way only, sitting in Business Class for the return leg of each aircraft, not overnighting at the destination (also industry standard).

LY002 , July 4 , JFK to TLV my friend was on it. ( she is in a wheelchair) Apparently passengers were 1/ 2 boarded when they announced that everyone had to get off, plane was going to be delayed 2 hours because they needed to add fuel! There was supposedly a whole to do, because some wheelchair passengers were already onboard and there were no escorts available.
Anyone have any idea of what really happened?
