FWIW, WTSO is having their Cheapskate Marathon today.

Details here: https://www.wtso.com/content.php?cms_id=17

Might be a good place to pick up a few bottles of red < $12.

I have no interest in the site, just passing this along in case it benefits someone.

I actually really like the Apothic red. I think it's about $8 at Sam's Club. I'm not a big wine connoisseur, but I will go out of my way to buy this stuff. I've had the Apothic white as well but I don't find that nearly as tasty.

My favorite red under $12 a bottle is Las Rocas Garnacha. It's a Spanish grenache. I like it because it's a very food friendly wine, with medium body and flavors that are rich without overpowering. This also makes it a great choice for novice wine drinkers.

Hmm, I'll have to try those. The Total Wines here around Phoenix have them for less than $8/bottle.

Naming a wine Kitchen Sink, IMHO implies the best way to treat it

The last two nights I've been very pleased with Radius Red Blend, from Walla Walla, WA. If you like Hot to Trot and Menage a Trois, you would probably like this as well. Currently $9.99 in my area (from Total Wine).

Try getting your hands on a recent issue of Wine Spectator - they always have a section of whatever the main wines they review dedicated to "value" wines, which I believe they call $15 or less. The value wines will be rated along with the regular buys, and I've found lots of interesting wines I never would have thought to try or heard of this way. That's the real value of the magazine, IMHO.
