Look out for the Benegas Estirpe line of wines....
Juan Benegas Malbec
Clara Benegas Chardonnay
Luna Benegas Cabernet
By the case, you should be able to get them for around $12 a pop.....

Kirkland--Yes, Kirkland (Costco brand)
Kirkland (Costco brand) meritage is just delicious. Yes, I was skeptical as well myself, thinking, "ain't no way I'm going to buy Kirkland wine." But I saw the CNBC special on Costco and how they have basically put an amazing amount of energy and effort in the Kirkland wine production. I bought a botttle for $10.99, and I must say that i am very impressed.
I have drunk some pretty "good" wines in my life, including 1994 Harlan Estate, 1982 Lafite, 2000 Margaux, 1994 Caymus Reserve, 1995 Ducru Beaucaillou, 2000 Latour, and a bunch of other "premium" wines I'm forgetting so I'm not a box-wine drinking kind of guy.
But I must say Kirkland meritage--for the money--is actually pretty good!
My two cents about other 'cheap wines'
Yellow tail is: the stuff is pretty disgusting. Sorry.
Charles Shaw: barely drinkable. I'd probably take it over Yellow tail though.
Bogle: just barely above Charles Shaw--still better than yellow tail.
Chateau St. Michell cab & merlot--really good. A very nice wine for the money.
Beaujolais: I find most of them are, "you get what you pay for."

Interesting -- I've been interested in trying more meritages and I'll def give it a try. I'm not a Costco member but fortunately under MN law the liquor stores are separate and open to the public. I've breezed through their store in the past but didn't spot anything I wanted to buy.
