A worthy reprise of the very same item tonight, except done take-out and eaten in the backyard looking at Mt. Diablo in the background.

Last night was rice pilaf (what else?) prepared with some canned La Sueur peas. I DO have a couple pears (not anjou) in the fridge, but they're not ripe yet. Eating some peaches, instead.

Yesterday's repast was thick-cut smoked porked chops grilled over hickory, a spinach salad with walnuts and dried cranberries, a version of dirty rice, lightly pan-toasted pita points sprinkled with grated romano and fresh basil, and strawberries and raspberries for dessert.

Discoverd when I got home this afternoon, that Mrs. cblaisd had marinated chicken breasts and steaks (too bad they weren't kanebear's steaks!) in a cilantro and pepper marinade. Very yummy. My job was to cook them on the grill over mesquite. We rounded out the meal with salad, homemade dinner rolls (again thanks to Mrs. cblaisd!), fruit, and -- sometimes its fun to eat childhood treats -- homemade Rice Krispie treats drizzled with chocolate.

I had kebabs made from beef/veal and, separately, potatoes, with yogurt and chili sauce on the side. And a little mustard. Accompanied with naan. It was good! (Haven't had pears yet this season...)

Please, let's not talk about food today. I'm fasting and would probably even eat a UA F meal I'll be so hungry tonight. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/smile.gif
