Back home in Sydney after a couple of weeks up the coast. Chicken thighs marinated in some store bought "jerk" sauce that didn't really taste like jerk sauce but tasted good. Rice with sumac and salad with tomato, avo, lemon juice and salt.

Last night I made a shepherds' pie with sweet potatoes. For the meat I used half ground beef and half Impossible Burger (can't tell the difference). And steamed cauliflower with a little butter and cheddar.

I didn't look at it, but I don't think so. I thought it was the one they've been featuring on the home page of the food section, but doesn't appear to be that one, either. He said it had thousands of 5-star reviews, and I believe it -- very tasty!

That would be a cottage pie. ;)

The one featured on the homepage of the Food Section today is the Hearty Beef Stew With Red Onions and Ale; it also has carrots and a little bit of tomato paste and is seasoned with rosemary, coriander and allspice.

Definitely not that one. I know it had red wine.

Someone (me) forgot to thaw fish in time for dinner so we got Chinese takeout (Sun Wah for the Chicagoans):
Egg rolls
Chicken and corn soup (mainly for lunch tomorrow)
Singapore mai fun noodles
Fish with ginger and scallions
Cumin lamb
Rice

Caesar salad
grilled sweet potatoes brushed with dijon/maple syrup
grilled chicken breast with Rao's lemon sauce (my version )

Cacio e pepe with fresh bucatini (nyt recipe - simple and delicious indeed)
penne with Parma
raw veggies
sourdough toast with chocolate almond butter and peanut-pecan butter (separate)

Another carb fest.
I have not heard of chocolate almond butter or peanut pecan butter. Are these dessert things like nutella?

Those look good. I love peanut butter on apples &I am sure those would be yummy. They are a bit too pricey for me.

I prefer Safeway organic crunchy peanut butter more at $6.99 for a big jar compared to this peanut-pecan but I’m glad to have bought it. The chocolate almond butter is nice and not replicated elsewhere.
I’ll try the Fiji ginger almond butter in the future. I’ve already loved the coconut one.

one day I’ll just buy Costco almond butter to compare :-)
