Nothing, as I just don't feel like eating right now.

That's understandable.

Man you impress me, gaobest. I'd need another stomach to put food away like you do! :)

Did a bit of exploring up here on the north coast. Forgot just how beautiful it can be, especially when it's not school holidays. I ended up walking about 20km (found a deserted beach that went on for miles – picture below) so was starving when I got back to the house – which was just as the rain started to set in. Ended up ordering a pizza and a salad and polished them both off easily. The highlight was the rainforest and the beach, not the pizza.

(apologies I realise this is a food not scenery thread)

Lol there are leftovers. Granted the sauces are creamy, but the contents are pretty vegetable-based separate from the chicken.
The Gobi is my favorite rare dish at this specific restaurant because I’ve never seen it elsewhere and this restaurant only has it bi-monthly. I think I last had it in 2018!!

Qooqoo sushi

A new Korean sushi place opened in town, and we hit it up last night. Pretty good quality. Large place with tons of employees. Masks for all employees, with gloves for the sushi chefs.

Nice sushi, but some non-sushi items like pizza not worthy of any attention.

Smoked turkey, pulled chicken, beef brisket and macaroni and cheese at a wedding reception. It was a very small wedding in a friend's backyard. Most of her family canceled at the last minute, so I was a last minute fill in so it wouldn't be just her mother on her side.

I think that's going to be my dinner tomorrow! One of my local churches is doing a Greek food festival via drive-thru only.

Normally this one is in May but they postponed it until now and did it drive through only. It benefits several local charities so it wasn’t a hardship to enjoy it.

Ondeh ondeh cake :)
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...b7001497b.jpeg
Beef shank , butter milk and sea salt chicken along with “ popiah / poh piah “ and not forgetting the kueh pie tee !!

Another scrumptious dinner !

Seems like the rage in recent years to have “ fusion “ desserts too . Like ondeh ondeh - miniature round rice balls filled with gula Melaka ( palm sugar ) and smothered with grated coconut are now also found as a cake ..

What is under the red lid are the kueh pie tee ‘ shells ‘ to be filled with the turnip / meat filling you see by the black sweet sauce . This and the other accompaniments make up the popiah / poh piah ( like in a spring roll ) , the poh piah skin is and is shaped like a crepe - out of shot .
The beef & chicken are separate and do not go in the poh piah .

This is one dish where you usually have to do some work - work for your dinner , unless someone else rolls / wraps it for you ;)

It was street concert night and I invited a guest. Dinner was crackers, dill cheese, salami, grapes, Parmesan whisps, candied walnuts, prosciutto and melon, salmon candy.
Berries over lemon pound cake with whipped cream and mini chocolate chips .
champagne with a splash of blood orange juice

I love salmon candy - used to get it at Whole Foods a lot before I quit going because of entry queue.

leftover Indian

my version of mapo tofu over white rice; entree with organic Wildwood tofu, ground beef, sliced Costco organic Bella mushrooms, korean pepper paste, ginger, canola oil, corn starch, and hot water.

waffle cone with Robbins rocky road & Robbins peanut butter cup
sugar cone with Robbins mint chip & B&J milk & cookies

What on Earth is salmon candy? It doesn't sound too good.

USA salmon chunks that have been caramelized. They’re sticky and sweet-sour like beef jerky / biltong.
