The Lebanese red wine Chateau Musar with the starters and main. The coffee/baklava combo was enhanced with a non-Lebanese digestif
I have only had Lebanese wine once but was very impressed. I took coworkers to a middle eastern restaurant in JAX. One coworker is in the wine business with his husband back in Belgium. I let him order the wine and it was some of the best Ive tasted.

+1 on the Lebanese wine. I'm hopeful that some day a trip there will be in the cards.

Dinner tonight for me will be a roast chicken. Probably my favorite weeknight meal.

Agreed. Two of the countries whose wines have surprised me most are Lebanon and Hungary. I've started to hear about Moldova recently too. Maybe I should have expected them all to be good, but I'm always safe claiming wine ignorance...I'm definitely not a connoisseur.

Last night I made mushroom, onion and ham risotto. Tonight I made the lemon fennel chicken that I first tried last month. This time I picked a fennel bulb with way more fronds to mince up for the sauce. Leftovers are packed for lunch tomorrow.

My wife had come up with a delicious dinner feast. I had mentioned that the smoked beef risoles from the other week, would be better with some thinly sliced pork. She made it tonight, and it was delicious!

I thought that was all I was getting, and then she brings in a huge bowl of rendang, with a stack of toasted paratha, plus some beautiful freshly sliced pineapple.

Im almost sad, because I was hoping to eat some tasty mango cheesecake we got yesterday, but theres no hope of that if I eat these goodies.

Romaine salad with crumbled gorgonzola, dried cranberries, candied walnuts and yogurt dressing
Chicken tortilla soup (from Costco--the bomb) with crushed doritos, shredded cheese and sour cream. I really wish I had some cilantro.

its my childs birthday and Super Duper carryout was chosen even though I can cook this stuff way better.

double cheeseburger
garlic fries
chocolate milkshake (Strauss soft-serve - the shops only carry Strauss ice cream)

cheeseburger
fries

garlic fries

we have very nice desserts so I only had garlic fries. Its just micro planed Parmesan or gruyere cheese & garlic and I can just shred cheese on oven fries myself. the fries are so adequately greasy that the grease ran from the food through the paper bag and onto my lap. They probably use beef lard to keep the fries crispy.

I had chocolate cake with white frosting and sprinkles for dessert. Im very tempted to have a corn cherry scone and water now for another dessert.

I get cilantro at the grocer with the $9.99/lb organic cherries. They also have Jenis ice cream that ORDeditor has mentioned.

I am actually pretty impressed with how they get the ice cream to suspend from the top of the shelf without falling. It's like magic!

Have you tried it? It is soooo delicious. More importantly, the listeria just slides out the top.

I forgot that you mentioned about the listeria. I feel that you and ORDeditor disagree regarding the power of Jenis ice cream. Im not sure what to do.

That's easy. When listeria is a possibility, just go with your gut.
