Red dwarf - gazpacho soup joke :-)
Ever since I saw that red dwarf episode - plus read it in one of the red dwarf compendiums - I’ve used the cold soup joke non stop. I just can’t get enough of it. Even used it with my in-laws. Quiet voice… “excuse me - my soup is cold! Perhaps you forgot to reheat mine?”

Smoked 10lb prime rib on the Traeger at 225, medium rare 135 degrees. First time I've done this. Came up to temp way faster than suggested by several sources.
Probably will be only warm by the time potatoes are done, but that's OK. The nibble I had was fantastic.
Garlic mashed potatoes,
Green salad.

It will make us 2 dinners, and the rest will be made into the best carne asada ever, with most frozen for later. :)
Our local Winco supermarket puts these babies on sale for $5.99/lb (or less) periodically, and we usually buy a couple.

Winn Dixie puts value packs of steaks on sale every weekend. $5.99 a pound and the price doubles come Monday. Usually ribeyes, t-bones or NY strip. I’ve managed to make a purchase three weekends running. I’m guessing it’s a loss leader and there’s usually a pack of vultures circling the case when I get there. Definitely an inflation buster. Last weekend I got three one pound t-bones for $18, which is perfect for the three of us. This weekend, it was four NY strips. I’d be filling the freezer but it’s consistently every weekend. Plus we go away for a month in another 4 weeks and I feel uncomfortable leaving with a freezer full of meat given the possibility of hurricanes and other power-interruption events. I’d break that rule for a 10 pound prime rib, however.

I like Trader Joe's pre-marinated shawarma chicken thighs. Last night I grilled them and made a pseudo-gyro with warmed Trader Joe's Indian flatbread, a Greek salad with red onion, tomato, and cucumber tossed in lemon juice and oregano, and a sauce made of mayonnaise and sour cream, feta cheese, minced garlic, lemon juice, oregano, and pepper.

I am going to do a 6 pounder on a new vertical smoker tomorrow, it will be interesting to see how it differs from the Traeger or the Egg (the Egg had been perfect every time), hopefully I don't ruin it.

Got this nice surprise in an email from Lou Malnati and took advantage last night. I was able to build my own - butter crust, pepperoni, green peppers and extra tomato sauce. Would have been over $30.

How often do you order from them to get that kind of status ?
A friend gave me a $100 goldbelly gift card to use for pizza (she has my #) and I am deciding between Buddy's Detroit or a NYC pizza. Lou was on my list too but in 3rd place.
