Any idea if they're going to be running the durian buffet again? The last time I was there, it wasn't too bad.

That said, I've heard there is a shortage of durians being seen (the Irish and countless others will be happy to hear this)

screw and brew, cannon beach or:
oyster shooters
chips & pico
pastrami Reuben

portlandia influence: supposedly the chips, pico, and pastrami are all housemade. Pastrami is house-brined and smoked.

dq, gearhart or:
mini blizzard with butterfingers

I am disappointed in myself for not trying to put the olives on a skewer and try to grill them. There is always next time.

I have seen grilled olives for sale.

Yes, jarred ones. You can also buy grilled artichoke hearts--TJ has them.

Found a jar of butter chicken sauce in the pantry (not even sure when I acquired it) so I made.... you guessed it...

Butter pork stew with chunks of basa (fish) that put on a bed of basmati rice. Wasn't too bad. still have some to cover tomorrow's lunch too.

Will check , how could I forget the durian puffs with compliments from Goodwood Park in our fridge ??!!
Yummy dessert for dinner ;)

Thanks for posting
Seems to be a bumper harvest this year & prices of durian are relatively “ low “ with long lines round the block at many locations where they are being sold - just over the weekend !

"Low" is never a price I'd associate with durian, lol At least there is ample supply. I'll have to check again with my friend, but they said the sellers they used couldn't keep up with the demand and that they often ran out.

VS JFK lounge. It's what's for dinner. My late and now delayed flight means more lounge füd, less plane füd.

Lechon, pancit, and large glass bottles of San Miguel beer brewed just down the road. The Filipino reggae band rounded out today's birthday celebration for my father in law.

Restaurant at the YMCA is closing , sadly , on Thursday . Their excellent fish head curry was sold out , along with some others on the already pared down menu .
But the crispy fried chicken wings still available .. we had chicken claypot rice & Indonesian nasi goreng too along with preserved / sour plum drink

Another restaurant we like , thankfully , is taking over the premises in mid July .

Gorgeous yum. Waterbar Sf has a similar cheap oyster special. Always ace.
