Had a double-double today, no salt, peppers grilled in, grilled onions. Post-lunch coma effect was in full effect around 2 today!

Had lunch there on Friday near LAX. All I can say is WOW, just WOW. Not only the double-double & fries, both animal style, were delicious, but nobody told me that we were right next to the runway and we saw some very pretty birds heading In-n-Out ^:):cool:^

As we all know, BOB W has no taste in anything except wine and he treated the In'n'Out junk that we had with him the other day as if it were a steak from the Palm or Morton's. :rolleyes:

During the resurrection process, the buns were detached so that the meat and cheese portion could be nuked more. I suppose that the buns do not get soggy since nothing really "wet" is in there. The "spread" must be thick enough to not soak in.

WhileI did not grind my own beef (I went to The Fresh Market and had them make me some ground chuck) I followed the recipe and it turned out very close. Yum.

When I was in Vegas two weeks ago we had a rental and went to In and Out before heading out to Hoover Dam. I have never seen so many TAXI's!!! Thats a popular place!

Sounds like a good idea ^ But you still ate it right? :p hmm... interesting idea. Dicks is another great place for a burger... haven't been there in about a year. And they are soo cheap :D Really a low key operation- great place to use dollar coins. A Texan's Review of an In-N-Out Burger
I had a trip to San Jose last summer to visit my Aunt. I was told to try In-N-Out burger. I have never tried this burger in my life. Being accustomed to a Whataburger, i decided to give the In-N-Out burger a try, to see if it will compare to a Texas Whataburger.

I walked in, and it was packed (Considering it was lunch hour). The menu was fairly simple, I ordered a double double, with all the fixings, with "Animal Fries" from the secret menu. My food came out quickly . I pulled the burger out of its greasy wrap and it looked pretty appetizing . I noticed is was smothered in this pinkish sauce that tasted like thousand island dressing. http://s1135.photobucket.com/albums/...t=IMG_1574.jpg My lunch. It was a good tasting cheeseburger, the fries couldve been better, but tasted great animal style. The In-N-Out burger was pretty tasty to be honest and does compare to a Texas Whataburger. I cannot decide as of today which is a better burger, but each has its pros and cons. PROS : Tender meat, Good ingredients, Tasty Sauce, Fast and quick. CONS : Crowded and loud atmostsphere, not enough seating, Fries were dry, Buns were really soggy. I give this burger a 9/10. Thanks for taking your time to read this review :). 3 more days and we land in SD at 11:38...grab our luggage...hit up Hertz ...drive to In n Out for our first lunch meal of the week :) |
In and Out Burger
I agree, nothing special about In and Out, other than probably best of the drive through burger chains (and food seems fresh, store seems clean and they cater to special orders). My go to burger places in Los Angeles: 25 Degrees at Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (with a glass of red wine) and D Town Burger Bar in downtown LA (2 locations).

I had a double-double, fries and chocolate shake just now in Las Vegas. Fries weren't too bad, shake ordinary and the burger no better really than McDonalds. Place was packed though so obviously some people like it.
Had a burger, fries and Coke at Five Guys a few days earlier and that burger was far far superior. Fries were so-so though. To cap it all, Five Guys cost twice as much as In N Out. |
Mmmmm just had another awesome In-N-Out experience at the Sepulveda/Westchester location after my flight.

Although equating even a regular non-animal-style burger with something from McDonald's is a bit :rolleyes:, IMHO. I agree with you on the fries and shake (although the fries are less salty and less "chemical" than McD's fries), but a plain INO burger has a freshness and a clean taste that is ultimately lacking from anything inside the Golden Arches. |
