Recently I had breakfast there (Egg Sandwich with Applewood Bacon, Tillamook Cheddar on a Sesame Bagel, coffee and a Fresh Raspberry Shortcake) - now that was a meal!!!

I think In-N-Out is pretty good for what you get. Is it like Daniel Boulud's signature burger - no. But for the price, I enjoy it occasionally. Since we don't have any in our vicinity it is always a treat to have a meal there whenever we are in the US.

You're comparing apples and bowling balls.

There are times I want a gourmet foofoo burger (and your recommendation sounds delicious), and there are times I want the perfect "fast food" burger, which is In-N-Out.

amazing how some folks don't understand the difference between a delicious gourmet or non fast-food burger versus a fast-food burger, which is clearly what in 'n out is.

I do like In-N-Out Burger but I visit there only occasionally. The biggest issue for me is usually I am out of time if I want to eat hamburgers but the line of In-N-Out Burger is just usually too long. Thus I normally only go there during "not" busy hours.

IN-N-Out has a special secret

IN-N-Out IS that good......especially...the secret menu!

Amen. For the money, Innout is one of the values in fast food out there, fast food price but much higher quality food. Can't beat it.

Plus their milkshakes rock.

Huh - one might expect grilled guinea pig on a bun with a side of cocaine
rather than In-n-Out.

I was visiting San Diego two weeks ago and tried In-N-Out for the first time ever. My expectations were incredibly high as I have several "foodie" friends that love it. It was very disappointing. For some reason the "special sauce" they use just doesn't work for me with the ketchup they put on the top bun. Likewise, I added onion and it was essentially a thick slab of very strong yellow onion--which actually made it difficult to eat. I'll probably give it a second shot when I back down there, but for now, I'm not a believer.

What "ketchup they put on the top bun"? Ketchup is not a standard ingredient on an In-N-Out burger.

It's definitely one of the best "FAST FOOD" burger places. I've tried much better burger restaurants in So Cal.
