Try the other two, and you may see that they as up to snuff as the durian shake. Another could be asparagus juice.
Another "festive" drink, though not quite worthy of the superlative thread title, was bird's nest juice.

I regret fewer of my mistakes this way.

I don't disagree, but the premium price my local beersellers charge for single bottles is annoying. So I generally find that I'm willing to buy a 4-pack (or 6-pack) and give most anything a go. I've only been burned a few times where I had to choke down the remaining bottles of a particularly bad choice.

Cost Plus here does singles but the cost can be quite a bit higher than $2. Again, if it looks risky but I just might like it, I'll spend the $3-5.
I'm taking fewer chances these days at the packy, but more at the bar. At one of my favorite locals, there are 65 ever-changing taps. Every time I think I've tried them all, there's a couple new ones.
I cleaned out the beer pantry over Christmas and threw out 9 bottles that I couldn't choke down. That hurt.

I hear ya. A mixed six here usually runs $12 for beers that might be $8-9 for a sixpack. But if the product is fruit flavored, I'm gonna weigh the risk against the cost and probably add one bottle of it to five other medium-high risk beers.

Generally, the fruit-flavored stuff is a non-starter for me. But, I did buy the Banana Bread beer 4-pack recently and I enjoyed it, so that was a lucky break. I'm more of an ale guy, and I haven't had too many bad IPAs, pale ales, red ales, brown ales, and the like. Recently, and probably seasonally, I've gotten into more stouts, especially the coffee and chocolate varieties. I've had a few chocolate ones that were a challenge to finish, but I did the job! I also had a few Kentucky bourbon barrel brews that didn't float my boat, but I finished those off, too.

Mariano's in the Chicago area sells pick-a-mix 6 bottles of beer for $9.99. I think at least one other grocery store chain in the area does too. Hey, how did this conversation drift over into Worst Drink Ever? I thought I was replying to What's In Your Beer Fridge? Ah well, I'll leave it in case it's useful.

On that note, have you ever tried Sweet Baby Jesus from DuClaw Brewing Co.? Supposed to be chocolate and peanut butter. The husband of a co-worker says it's good stuff, but I'm a little afraid to buy a 4- or 6-pack. Can't find a single bottle anywhere I've looked, so I thought I'd ask here. Seems like it could easily be on someone's "Worst Drink You've Ever Had" list, or I might find it in the "What's in Your Beer Fridge" thread!

I'll see if I can dig it up at the bar's website. The beer I had before that was a Strawberry wheat beer and I thought is was barely drinkable and made me question what I was thinking. Edited to say the website hasn't been updated since the fall, so maybe I'll remember to look on the menu tomorrow afternoon.
Tomorrow my plan is to drink unflavored brews, probably porters and stouts, following the morning hike through the swamps.

I tried a chocolate and peanut butter porter a couple weeks ago. I don't recall where it came from but would have remembered SBJ. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The nose was all peanut butter and the taste was mostly chocolate. It accompanied jalapeno hummus and worked well with it.

Maybe I'll muster the courage to give it a try. I'm gonna hunt down a 4-pack, though, just to mitigate things a bit.
