Worst Drink You've Ever Had
The worst beer I've ever tasted was from Dogfish Head, of all places. It proves even the best get it wrong sometimes.
It was called Raison D'Etre and it was made with raisins. Really. And you could taste raisin in every sip. I'm embarrassed to admit I bought it a second time by mistake. I figured I'd try it again in case I just had a bad bottle. Nope, still gawdawful. |
Blue Moon Cinnamon Horchata Ale
I mean, it wasn't AWFUL. I just don't think beer should be a dessert. For awful, Laphroaig. I could make a similar drink by chugging a bottle of Liquid Smoke. |
Oh, this one's easy. Without a doubt, Yanghe Haizhilan. We're only three posts in and I declare myself winner of this thread :)
Someone brought a bottle of this stuff into my office and we all ritualistically forced ourselves to try some. As none of us speak Chinese, we started referring to it as "The Goat". Partly because the company logo is a goat, but mostly because the stuff tastes like musty barn with an aroma of wet hay and strong notes of wet mud and goat sweat on the finish. The worst is the aftermath: you'll be burping goat taste for a good 24-48 hours after trying a shot of this stuff. I'd attempt to describe it further, but I think the manufacturer's flowy description does it better than I ever could: Each bottle of Haizhilan holds the depth of eternity, its ripples reflecting the expanses of your mind and spirit. |
I don't vary my alcoholic drinks very much (usually Jack - or Beam - straight or with Coke), but a bartender offered me a free Jim Beam Honey. Couldn't finish it. Probably the first and only free drink I've ever turned down.
Just horrible. |
OMG how could I forget? Fireball.

A "Jersey Turnpike" (They empty the bar mats into a shot glass)
or Coors Light is a close second. |

Guiness Blonde. I was at a Tilted Kilt recently and asked the bartender for a sample. Putrid, disgusting.
It's beers like the Guiness Blonde which answer the question why brewers in the United States don't try to make more complex and different beers. |
BamaVol Jr #1 tells me that Wells Banana Bread beer is worse than anything else he's tried and he's tried a lot of beers.

I actually like that beer... worst to me is Fernet Branca. It's bad straight, bad in cocktails, and worst with coke like the Argentine's prefer.

Suze.
Sort of herbal-tasting concoction, made me feel the same way I felt when I was a kid and my mother tried to force medicine down my throat. Parents of a friend in France gave it to me, they knew how I'd react. |
Fermented mare's milk in Mongolia. Unbelievably, it tastes worse than it sounds.
