Ardbeg. It was vile, like poison. I don't know if something was wrong with it or that's how it tastes. I considered reporting it to someone in case it was poisoned but wasn't sure how to, so I poured it down the drain.

I got rid of it. I only hope it didn't seep out and destroy the eco-system.

Sounds like the winner, hands down.:td:

Yes. In a ger in the middle of nowhere (which is quite easy to find in Mongolia). We wanted to camp near the ger so went over to ask permission and were invited in for a drink with the new neighbours.

I'd describe it as liquified goat cheese that was past its use by date, with a strong smell of grass. And no, not the type of grass that would make such tastes enjoyable ;)

I'm embarrassed to admit I bought it a second time by mistake. I figured I'd try it again in case I just had a bad bottle. Nope, still gawdawful.

I actually like that beer... worst to me is Fernet Branca. It's bad straight, bad in cocktails, and worst with coke like the Argentine's prefer.

How many times have you tried it? For some reason I tried it time after time and now enjoy it... It leads to interesting mornings I've discovered.

Drinks don't have to be exotic to be vile.

Worst I ever had was Diet Pepsi and cheap vodka. Finals week, junior year in college, I discovered that I had not received the notice stating that time had been changed for one of my Econ exams and I had missed the exam. I stopped by a friend's room to vent and she offered me a drink. Gak! Not a Pepsi person to start with, and add cheap vodka - haven't touched either since then.

The good news is the proof let me make up the exam because she knew me well enough to know I'd never miss it on purpose.

But I've had worse. I just have to think about what they were.

My dear husband thought it wise to get a pineapple "wine" at a corner store in rural Costa Rica. It was not good.

As far as something not available commercially, I had a co-worker back in East Tennessee who tried making wine out of potatoes he grew in his backyard. When no one wanted to drink it, he ran it through his still and produced moonshine. Still no one wanted to drink it. He added maple syrup and told people it was homemade "Maple Crown Royal". I took one sip and spit it out. It may very well have been identical in flavor to what he was trying to replicate. I have no idea what came over me. I never drank any of his homemade alcohol again which I suppose was a shame because some of his home brewed beer was okay.

Actually, it can and does taste nice. The classy version comes from animals who are raised high in the mountains and feed on a special type of grass.

I had moonshine once in Kentucky. A friend of a friend's parents made it on their farm. It was sweet and peach flavored. Not bad, but I couldn't have more than a little.

Ah yes, when we were young and foolish and didn't know better we bought a bottle of pineapple wine at a roadside stand in Hawaii. It was, um, memorable.

That's what I did the first time I had a wheat beer at a beer tasting. Thought it was spoiled. Poured it down a nearby drain.
