Another spanish wine:
Codorniu 'Anna' Reserva Brut Cava
Got it for the cool wine bottle koozie and great price. Mostly for the koozie, it was worth the $10 for it

I expect to celebrate with a good bottle. It will take me close to a year to make a decision.
Day 2 - No perfume, but really Hot. Nice color. Overall, a disappointing bottle of wine for the price.

I drank, or at least tried to, the '08 earlier this year. My notes... What a mess. Vegetal nose. I felt I was at the perfume counter at Macy*s. Oh dear. We ate this with BBQ chicken. My non Geek friends thought this was delicious. As for me, I needed a face mask for all the perfume. Maybe this was a flawed wine?

http://www.broccellars.com/store/#!/...=0&id=18022734 for an example of a Paso Robles fruit-sourced wine that is picked fairly early, that is drinking deliciously for a new release.
http://www.broccellars.com/store/#!/...=0&id=18149203 for another light handed Paso-fruit wine.

Last night: 2009 Perrin Reserve CdR.... Meh!
Ok, but nothing special and certainly not one of the better inexpensive CdR's out there in the ~$10-12 range.

Taittinger 2005 followed by 2007 Solitage Cabernet (Pemberton, Australia). The vintage Taittinger is superb, far better than the NV Taittinger champagnes. The Australian cabernet is remarkable for the price and comes in a screw cap which I prefer over cork for wine.

Tonight's after dinner hotel room pour is a 2009 Estampa Reserve Syrah (5% viognier). Tasty with the alfajores. Dinner was a Carignan chileno - don't remember from where. Much darker and viscous than I'd expect from a Carignan, but quite tasty.
