Went to a Bordeaux dinner last night where the following were served:
Of those, the Latour was my favorite followed by the VCC. The Clos Fourtet was...not good. Rubbery and chemically.
- 2014 Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc, Pessac-Leognan
- 2021 Chateau Duhart-Milon, Pauillac (white)
- 1993 Chateau Montrose en magnum
- 1976 Chateau Cheval Blanc
- 1971 Clos Fourtet
- 1970 Latour en magnum
- 1981 Vieux Chateau Certan
- 1985 Chateau Larmande

Enjoying a cheeky Thursday night bottle. 2020 Penley Steyning Cabernet Sauvignon (Coonawarra, South Australia). I bought a case of 6 on Qantas Wines for a nice 12,000 bonus points, but actually really enjoying it. Lovely chocolate and cassis notes - perfect for a chilly autumn evening here in Melbourne, Australia.
Drinking it while planning some wine tasting in Paso Robles, California in July

I stopped by the local wine market this afternoon to grab a white wine to cook with. The owner suggested a 2022 La Fiera Pino which is very basic, though has a nice, dry finish to it. Had a small glass while my chicken cooked in the wine.

No pics, sorry, just a suggestion.
We are currently in Mexico, which produces some terrific wines, the output is not great so not much is exported outside of Mexico.
I urge anyone visiting Mexico to do a bit of research as indulge. We've been well rewarded drinking "local".
