Ok this isn't really about what one is drinking….
BUT, I would like to get your thoughts on this contraption:
Coravin.
At times all I want is a glass and don't want to open a bottle, saw the above being used at a resto, was pretty impressed. Yes it is expensive, but after a couple of bottles being poured out, this thingy makes sense.
Anyone used it?

Finishing off a couple of bottles from a Pinot Noir showdown I had this afternoon......
Miras Pinot Noir, Patagonia
Bressia Piel Negra, Mendoza
Chacra Barda, Patagonia
DV Catena Pinot Pinot, Mendoza
Its nice to remember that Argentina is a lot more than just Malbec.....

We will start with a Donkey and Goat 2012 Helluva Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley (light and easy drinking deliciousness)* and then continue with a Donkey and Goat 2007 Reserve Syrah, Broken Leg Vineyard, Anderson Valley. (Have not previously tried this.)
*California Pinot Noir is often one of my least favorite wines

Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru 2005 Roulot. Works perfectly with a properly aged sirloin steak - the vegetal characteristics of both working together. Whereas last night it was a Paddy Borthwick Pinot Noir from Wairarapa, which IMHO puts most other New World pinot noir in the shade - and a fair number of burgundies too.

A wine that I call Kap-Kap. It's pronounced Jaw-Jaw which I understand means hurrah, hooray, congratulations, cheers..... For those who speak Russian, the K I've used is the double K in the Russian alphabet.
It costs £2.26 (about $3.60) a bottle.
It's a Kazakh wine - anyone enjoying it now?

That is quite a lineup. I'm having Brunello di Montalcino tonight with grilled steaks. I think I'd rather have your Saint Julien, or maybe a nice Margaux

Tonight I am on a Cauhapé 2012 Jurançon Sec Chant des Vignes. Fruitier than a Capdevielle, but still nicely dry. Amazingly, it goes with Cajun chicken...
