It was just short of amazing. Excellent flavor on its own, but the dipping sauce was what put it over the edge. Not so sweet like you often find in the US.

I thought about som tam, but I was about to explode after eating (most of) the two dishes. Can't imagine trying for more. But there is always next trip.

I wondered about trying to organize a mini-DO to sample more of their large menu, but we would overwhelm the place, I think.

Roast Beef and Swiss sandwich, BBQ chips and a yogurt. Simple, but effective.

@UK1, what are you drinking? Coffee/tea BEFORE you started eating?

I make a butter veg bouillon and throw it into the pan with the pakchoi, and slam the lid on to steam for a few moments. I discovered some time ago that I enjoy pouring off what is left and drinking it and using it to pour over. An amuse bouche? It is nectar.

Exam season means no class which means time to cook dinner. A little sausage, a little gravy, some rigatoni and some bread. Pretty good if I do say so myself ^

Lunch I'm afraid, is the center of our lives. Travelling to see how other people take their lunch all over the world has been and is our greatest passion. Pictures I'm afraid is collateral damage. :D

Hi.

I fully cheated. Everything bought with me merely assembling. Here is the full confession. Waitrose/Ocado.

It's the same rich red wine beef ravioli on both plates. Beef and red wine ravioli made from free range egg pasta sauce made with tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and basil. I can't be bothered with lasagne any more and I prefer a plate of ravioli with the cherry tomato and basil sauce covered on two layers with a bought four cheese sauce on top and baked. A sauce made with Grana Padano, provolone and mascarpone cheeses bought from Waitrose via Ocado. Waitrose Ravioli is superb. Why feel guilty? :D

It's pretty much the same thing on both plates but mine has the cheesy sauce and is baked, the other as ravioli was as Waitrose and nature fully intended. Everything bought in and no effort.

Actually I myself much prefer a big lunch and very very light din din if any.

So, next time am in your little Island am gonna start looking for you, you have been warned. :p

Though your pasta, ahhhh, not so keen on them.

I had a luxurious dinner of potato skins and pigs in a blanket from Walgreens! I did wash it down with a Perrier though. I'm happy to say that it was pretty good.

Sometimes when I eat out I find restaurant menus so verbose and pretentious it's a welcome relief to find an old friend amongst the verbiage.

And so it was that I dined on bangers and mash with onion gravy and a pint of bitter last night.

Marvellous.
