Very easy to make if you can find pomegranate juice, and well worth it!

I use this method: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/pomegranate-syrup-or-molasses-recipe.html

Keeps well for months.

Quail recipe sounds delicious. Mind sharing?

Thanks for the tip! Here's the recipe -

QUAIL IN POMEGRANATE SAUCE WITH CRISPY FENNEL

INGREDIENTS
4 quail
1 small head of fennel
40 g olive oil
20 g pomegranate molasses
10 g fresh thyme
10 g fresh rosemary
10 g garlic
5 g sea salt
10 g black peppercorns, crushed

PREPARATION
Marinate the quail in the olive oil, pomegranate molasses, thyme, rosemary, garlic, sea salt and black pepper mixture for 24 hours. If you are going to grill, four minutes per side will suffice to cook the quail. If you are using the oven, you’ll need close to ten minutes. Quail quickly dries out and loses its flavor, so don’t overcook. Divide the fennel into four and brown quickly in hot oil until crisp.

Tonight we made a recipe I clipped from the TK inflight magazine - "quail with pomegranate molasses, rosemary, thyme, and garlic". Couldn't get quail so we substituted Cornish hens. Wow - really nice. Picked up the pomegranate molasses in Turkey, can't seem to find it here. Turned out great

You can find it in Middle Eastern stores.

Well let's see:

- Otis Spunkmeyer Muffin, Nature Valley Granola Bar, fruit cup. Lufthansa calls that breakfast on a EWR-DUS flight

- Croissants and yogurt at the DUS SEN lounge plus coffee

- Almond cookies and more yogurt on a DUS-BUD flight

- Fresh baked bread and espresso for lunch

- Various nibbles at the Hilton Budapest Westend Executive Lounge

and the only thing really worth mentioning:

- Sturgeon steak with spicy skin and cole slaw for dinner at the Halkakas halbisztró in Budapest. That was excellent.

Dinner tonight will be BBQ spare ribs and potato wedges. Love ribs.

Singapore noodles, Bami Goreng, Spicy Chicken Thighs.
Washed down with some home-made scrumpy cider.
Delicious.

Totally OT, but have a great trip! I've never been, but I understand that Budapest has some of the most beautiful, friendliest women in Europe. You know, you can't eat all the time :)

What are you doing in Budapest? I thought you were at law school enjoying studies.

I would like to visit Budapest and partake in the scrumptious meals. My wife is half Hungarian and her mother cooks up a mean meal!

I'm having a great time thus far and yes the women are very nice here, attractive too (though a lot of them wear panty hose with any outfit, it's strange) and most people speak English
