Went to one of my favorite local joints, a little Mexican place (counter service only) called Chubby's Tacos for lunch. Had a Taco Salad with chorizo, lettuce, cheese, sour cream and lots of salsa and hot sauce. It hit the spot and was only $6 ^

Went to a local breakfast place with my Mom this morning called "Another Broken Egg Cafe" and had Eggs Benedict with a side of bacon and breakfast potatoes. It was excellent and I'm still full (meal was at 8:30) so it must have been good!

Nice breakfast place. You can find it in several southern states.

Everything I've had there has been quite good, they do a mean omelet. I didn't realize it was a chain though...silly me!

Plus as a City of Durham employee I get 15% off and I do love a discount! :D

I've rarely been overwhelmed by my US eating, but one thing for sure. They are much better at menus than us Brits. You always want to eat what's on the menu :D

I'd never heard of this before so googled.

Are they served freshly to be eaten as soon as served ie hot - crisp on the ouside but sort of pickly and cool on the inside?

Speak for yourself, I limit myself to a couple of small items from the menu. That's why I look good and healthy :D
