I have to admit, I always try to time things so I can stop at Burrito Beach for a steak quesadilla. Good salsa (though not vey hot) and good guac. It's not limey, so you know it's fresh.

Had my cousin over for leftover Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. Tomorrow, I stew the carcass and make creamed turkey which we then freeze and use to serve with cheese soufflés a la Le Soufflé in Paris.

There's pumpkin pie flavored yogurt, then there is pumpkin pie flavored frozen yogurt. DQ may have a pumpkin pie blizzard, which is vanilla ice cream with chunks of pumpkin pie.

No photos but today we celebrated Chanukah with my dad's partner's family. This included freshly made latkes, assorted bagels with cream cheese and lox, different cheeses, tuna salad and egg salad, mini-reuben sandwiches (reubenettes, if you will), kielbasa in sauce, coconut custard pie, mixed berry-apple pie, pumpkin pie, and chocolate gelt. Of course I didn't have all of that but I did sample the majority. Hoping that's it for big meals for a while.

Just had three of the reubenettes for dinner. I am stuffed, and I still have leftover fish/tofu and I have chicken marinating to cook.

That was for my child - ooh and all the rivalries on tv. Michigan / Ohio. Florida / Florida. Texas / Baylor was over. It’s a 3-cheese grilled cheese. Despite my wings desire, I also wanted the Chicago hot dogs. Ah well I can’t eat it all!

The pickle was from my child’s order. Frontera isn’t open In T3 (maybe T2 or T1??) as I love Rick bayless and would eat at his place if it’s near our gate. We flew from T3 and it’s preferred to just eat in T3 - as it is, we got to our gate about T-15. We don’t like to be rushed.

Ah, I couldn't remember if it was open last time I was in T3.

I really only do Frontera, Publican and Starbucks at ORD. Or swing past Garrett's of I need to bring a host/hostess gift.

It was open when I was there in the beginning of June.

I would love that! Unfortunately there isn't a DQ anywhere near me.

I just had some butternut squash. Will probably finish it tomorrow.

I've never tried it, because I don't like pumpkin pie.

I polished off an entire Costco pumpkin pie and those things are the size of a big rig hubcap. Well almost...there are 4 slices in the freezer but the rest I ate for breakfast and dinner for almost a week. With whipped cream.

Oh, I love coconut custard pie! Or even better, a mix of banana cream and coconut cream pie

Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie would be a disappointment for me. What's your go-to Thanksgiving dessert?

It was my first time having it. That combo sounds really great too.

This year, we skipped dessert. Typically, we have apple pie.

Late Thanksgiving

Since we were in Vegas during Thanksgiving, my oldest daughter decided to have an afternoon late Thanksgiving. Some tortilla chips, with fall leaf shapes, and salsa to start.

We brought a Costco ham, and some scalloped potatoes. She did most of the heavy lifting. Pumpkin soup, green bean casserole, sliced yams, some sort of Turkey breast with stuffing inside, semi-mashed potatoes, warmed Hawaiian rolls, plus homemade pecan and pumpkin pie.

We had some Martinelli’s apple cider, sone Seagrams wine coolers, and a European raspberry sweetish beer of some sort. I tried a sip, and it was ok. I’m not much of a drinker.

The ham and scalloped potatoes were delicious. The pumpkin soup, yams and pecan pie were better than average. The stuffing was ok, but the turkey was a bit of a weird texture and taste. She tried pretty hard.
