Wasn’t that Boudin?

boudin is its own Sf business for bread & sandwiches & soup

la boulangerie (original name) got bought by SBUX and then sold back to its original owner. Now it’s La Boulangerie of San Francisco. They’ve always had nice French inspired breads, patisserie, and sandwiches plus american cookies and such.

I am in Oceanside, CA, at The Fin Hotel (Hilton), and ordered dinner from the attached Asian/Hawaiian-inspired restaurant The Switchboard. The fried chicken sandwich (a little too spicy gochujang) and a very generous side of broccolini and carrots. Had the leftovers for breakfast this morning and still have a quarter of the vegetables left.

gorgeous! Did or could you warm them up??
post-farmers market fun - I chose to not get any food there to eat, because of big inventory of Leftover Chinese supper from Shabbat
microwaved Szechuan pork, Hunan smoked pork, and white rice
sauteed bok choy & tofu in olive oil and restaurant-provided chili oil (big thanks to Corky for the idea of using olive oil instead of canola oil!!!)

For breakfast, I had 4 slices of leftover pizza, 6 leftover pork dumplings, and half a box of mixed greens.

Today I learned about a style of shumai steamed dumplings that doesn’t require shumai/dumpling wrappers or gyoza skins. Instead, little balls of filling are prepared then rolled in rinsed and soaked glutinous rice and steamed with this attached rice as a coating.
Step by step process on video in this web page, ingredients are easy to translate.

Forgot to mention that the neighbourhood restaurant I posted about in # 5816 is only a few doors away from the cake shop which has these amazing simple cakes in their somewhat small selection . Photos of the whole cakes are somewhere above .

Lemon Ricotta Cookies - if you’ve ever had them at a Nordstrom Cafe, you know how delicious. Crisp on the edges, moist and cakey on the inside, with lemon icing.

I should have waited until they were completely cool to frost, but I couldn't wait. :)

Is this the same chili from a couple weeks ago?
I thought you said that you bought crab legs for tonight's dinner.
