Much appreciated.
She's hasn't been mum for a while now since dementia took her away but she's a tough old stick and may even prove the docs wrong again.

Whatever you do, don't give her any of that nasty rice.

Funnily enough I saw exactly the same model in use extensively throughout a trip to Thailand a couple of years ago.
Seems to me if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me.
But if you think your Rolls-Royce version steams the same rice with the same water differently then who am I to disagree. :D

There is a world of difference between cooking thai and chinese rice - and basmati rice. Any rice cooker will do for the first two but not basmati.

I DON'T BELIEVE IT !!!

The inside of my rose wine box isn't clear plastic ... but a silver one! How am I supposed to know where all the remaining drops of rose are to squeeze out - if I CAN'T SEE THEM!

This isn't fair and has made me grumpy. I am going to open a bottle of white. S€d the diet.

You cut off the top corner of the bag with scissors and pour all the remaining wine into your glass.

You know he won't be happy until he buys an expensive piece of kitchen equipment to do that job for him ... :D

We ate durian, lots of it. The king of fruit. Ok, I take it that not all will like this.

I can't tell you how I feel. I have spent years squeezing the bags and holding the tap down. I never thought of cutting the end and getting it out that way. I always though I was really clever.

Are there special scissors for this or will any do?

:D

For you I think a pair of box fresh,titanium-tipped,forged from a re-cycled Rolls-Royce once owned by Joël Robuchon scissors would be the minimum requirement. :D

Just off Farragut Square in Washington, DC. Lunch today was japchae from the Korean place downstairs, pretty damn good.
