One of the contradictions of living where I do - we can get Dos Equis Lager but not my preferred Amber :(
Currently trying some Marstons Pedigree Amber Ale - very easy drinking. |
Negra Modelo is good, maybe the only macro dark beer I'd buy.

After taking care of my mother, at 1:30 I asked Mrs BamaVol what she wanted to do. We narrowed it down to a glass of wine for her and a beer for me. Problem: it's Mothers Day and every restaurant is packed. We don't have many places we drink that don't serve food. Problem solved: the local brewery. We were the only ones at the bar the first 30 minutes. I started with their raspberry blonde ale and finished with their Belgian style ale. Both excellent and it made me want to come back for more.

This month's Delta Sky magazine has a spotlight on NYC microbreweries which made me thirsty as I ready it on my way to NYC, but I was going for Mother's Day to meet my mom and grandma, so no free time to hit up the brewery taprooms. :( Next time, though to be fair I had already been to a couple of them.
I also recently tried AB Inbev Karbach Lemon and Ginger Radler at an event. Low ABV (<4%) but a super refreshing summer drinking beer, but I won't be buying any of it. Plus, low ABV beers are a waste of calories :p |
Southern Tier, Unfiltered DIPA is on tap. Once that sixtel is done planning on Peabody Heights, Flick.

Opted for some Stanley Park Brewing 1897 Amber Ale as I'm kinda partial to ambers.

I refilled the beer fridge thanks to the $5 6 pack sale that Randall's idiotically runs. I really don't how this Safeway subsidiary still exists but whatever. I only go there for their stupidly good beer sales.
$5 for each of the following 6-ers Shiner Strawberry Blonde Shiner Ruby Redbird Saint Arnold Summer Pils Saint Arnold Elissa IPA My kitchen counter currently looks like a beer store's clearance rack :o |
Crispin Blackberry Pear Cider
I like their Pear Cider; the blackberry adds a nice touch. Worth trying if you run across it. I found it for $4 a 4 pack. |
Felt a little nostalgic so bought a handful of Stiegl.

About a month ago, I bought a six pack of Shiner Cold Brew coffee ale. I got around to trying it this weekend. I like coffee. I like ale. This tasted like neither and I will have to attempt to give away the remaining 4 bottles.
