C club is still closed. G club has a bartender and they also do the soda now too.

Oh, thanks. I thought I read above that someone had visited the C lounge and appreciated the new renovations.

Nope—C is still closed. F/G was surprisingly busy tonight. Agree with earlier poster that the renovations to the welcome area were a lot for naught. Surprisingly decent selection of individually-packaged foods. Only problem is that if you make the ramen noodles, the fork melts when you go to stir it!

What is on offer in the sky club these days? Have things improved or still just packaged snacks? Just one bar? Denver has a self serve bar. Miss the C club for that! Wonder when it will reopen?

Sorry, it’s still all prepackaged snacks (sandwiches, salads, hummus, ramen, cheeze-it’s, cookies, fruit) and usual bar service with one bartender. There has been some discussion in the COVID SkyClub thread about MSP F/G. Someone posted there that JFK had hot food! MSP F/G seems to be getting more and more full compared to some of the other clubs on the coasts based on what I have been reading. Who knows if they will reopen the C club to permit more social distancing.

Currently MN permits indoor restaurant dining at 50% capacity as well as outdoor service, so the local rules might make it a bit easier to offer more food here compared to some other locations. I would guess that if local regulations permit only grab-and-go/takeout/delivery/curbside, a SC could only offer packaged food and think of it as grab and go, even if people obviously are supposed to eat in the lounge. [OTOH, a Minneapolis order (from the Mayor) forbids guests from being in indoor bar areas, although being seated at indoor tables in a bar is fine, but Minneapolis ordinances don't apply to the airport which is located outside of city limits.]

New Sky Club down in the G concourse expansion is still on, but delayed until early 2023. 17,000 square feet with a Sky Deck

They seem to be making good progress on the structure.

I’m too impatient to wait for 2023!

The G concourse expansion is pretty much complete, and Delta has more or less taken over the space at the G17 rotunda to start the build. Now expected to open spring 2023. Here's a first photo from inside the space, courtesy of the Metropolitan Airports Commission.

Great to see Delta continuing with this project despite their major cuts to MSP. June 2022 capacity is down 20% from June 2019. Delta overall is down 16% but it's not evenly distributed across markets.

PreCOVID-19, DL had daily nonstops to ICN and HND which were generally full. In fact, when the USA shut down, MSP wasn't on the list of airports allowed to process international arrivals. DTW continued to have some TPAC and TATL flights. So it's not surprising that MSP numbers are down more than other hubs.

Kyle from Thrifty Traveller has posted some actual interior renderings and a hard deadline for the club.

We've got six more long months til the new club finally opens in April 2023, but wow does it look nice.

New MSP lounge

Anyone heard anything more specific than “April” for the G concourse lounge at MSP to open? Excited for it.

Can’t come soon enough. Been flying thru there a lot lately to the west coast and I consistently land at the end of G. I’ll be there on Tuesday and can look around haha

About a month ago I overheard rumblings suggesting April 18th as the Grand Opening…

Not sure it’s been confirmed?
