I rented a car to get from Richmond to ORF because I thought I was getting out the next day. Then after cancellations Thursday, all rental cars in the 757 area were booked. I definitely missed my window, but it made sense at the time. Had no idea it'd be this bad this long.

For $35, I suggest buying one for insurance.

I'm booked on a later Nashville flight for insurance.

Had planned on staying with my brother who lives in ATL should it come down to it, but he's apparently not in town today.

Right. That's how I read it as well. I haven't seen anything about compensation. I had 2 (originally scheduled) flights canceled in 2 days. That doesn't count the re-bookings that were canceled. Anyway, I received 2 apology emails for the cancelations. The original flights were on different tickets so I guess that's why I received 2 emails.

I'm not expecting anything else. My expectations for Delta are pretty low at this point.

Delta says some flight cancellations likely Sunday, April 9, 2017

From the local newspaper:
Delta Air Lines said some additional flight cancellations are “likely” Sunday in what would be the fifth day of weather and operational problems that struck during the heart of spring break for many travelers.

The continuing troubles amid sunny skies in Atlanta had some passengers questioning why Delta still hadn’t fully regained its footing since Wednesday when strong thunderstorms battered the carrier’s biggest hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
and
So far, Delta has canceled more than 3,000 flights in total, which is more than the system outage last year and snowstorms that virtually shut down flights at an airport.
We're going to have another 0 to the thread title!

Good news is that my bags arrived today so I'm finally done with this mess. Best of luck to everyone still stuck at an airport.

My next DL flight is in 18 days and I'm starting to wonder if they will have this sorted out by then...

I wasn't traveling during this even, thankfully. But I do have a flight coming up Friday and the thought crossed my mind today "they'll have this sorted by Friday, I'm sure. I'm pretty sure. I hope. Won't they?"

Another data point... Just called 800-221-1212 and an agent answered within 15 seconds. And I don't even have status anymore.

I'm watching the earlier segments of my flight tomorrow night like a hawk. If there's even a slight delay, I'm changing to Monday.

I know weather started the whole mess, but seriously, more than 2 days after the storm, on a route that does not involve any affected city and with perfect weather, sudden cancellation that get people stuck for 2 more days? Something is seriously wrong.
Did they give you a reason for the cancellation? They gave your plane to 2260 to SLC. You can see this on flightradar24 if you look up tail # N314NB.

We were supposed to fly an A-319 coming in from BNA (2434, I think). I kept my eye on that flight before leaving for the airport. It was delayed three times, after which 2260 would show a delay as well. Finally it was canceled and I expected my flight to be canceled as well, but it continued to just show delayed. On flightradar24 I saw that our tail number had changed to another A-319, which also showed as scheduled for CMH, then after a bit the CMH flight was canceled and 2260 did finally go on to SLC , a couple hours late.

I don't know if they offered you any compensation, but I would be asking for reimbursement for the hotel last night and any additional amount you had to pay to fly WN. This wasn't weather. There was an aircraft and a crew ready to go. Someone just made a decision that the SLC flight was more critical.

We overheard gate agents having that exact same conversation as we were finally boarding a flight at JFK. This was around 1am where we had an A319 with only about 30 people left for what was originally a full flight. This flight was scheduled for the 4th which is another reason I'm not buying the weather excuse in full.

My bag also ended up at ATL some how even though I never had a connection there. The bag tracker never updated after the bags were checked in, but on arrival I recieve an email saying that I was entitled to the 2,500 miles.

Yes, and flight attendants. What is odd is that for the hours that we were waiting at the gate for a crew to be ready for our flight, there were a ton of people waiting for seats on standby. Some of those people were on our flight, but certainly some of them went elsewhere. Maybe in the time we were waiting, they either gave up and left (some had been waiting all day or longer) or found another flight -- maybe some of these people ended up on AA flights? I didn't even realize this was being offered until I saw the reports afterwards. It was never offered to me, I just kept being told by Delta ticketing and gate agents that I would make my connection -- until I was on the plane and the flight attendants started to say otherwise!

Just randomly spoke to a Delta FA at hotel and the crew seems to have no idea what's going on. All they seem to know is that communications from DL are sparse, they are completely out of rotation, DL is falling behind on providing hotels for crews who suddenly need crew rest because of delays and cancellations. They seemed to be just as frustrated and confused as the passengers. Two needed to be back at JFK tonight for a TATL and were concerned about being stuck across the Atlantic assuming they make it to and out of JFK.

I've rebooked my return on JetBlue. Not even chancing Delta at this point.

Delta can't rebook people on AA.
