Figured a highly collaborative effort like this needs a wikipost. As items and codes are confirmed, let's centralize them in one place rather than thumb through hundreds of discussion posts.

We knew it was coming

An editorial in the New York Times yesterday. Looks like this is how this website data may be used:

Frequent Fliers, Prepare to Pay More

A few airlines are expected to test this approach this year, and it could be widely adopted in a few years, according to the trade group. A majority of the group’s 240 members, which include most American airlines though not Southwest, voted for the standard.

So I can enter 'Joe Blow, 12345678' then see the lower prices?
Better yet, simply use another carrier for the ticketing carrier so that they have no control over it.
Besides, I don't see TAs being a big fan of this either-more work for them.

All the more reason to use Matrix for price searches instead of a travel agent or the DL website.

The government should make that illegal-pricing items differently due to past purchasing behavior.

You want it to be illegal for a store to give me a discount for buying a lot? I don't think so.

Showing you a different price list than they show others, from which your discount is based, simply due to your perceived ability to pay more or from past experience as a customer, should be illegal.

This is interesting news...

They also say customers will still have the option of shopping anonymously for basic fares if they choose not to provide any information about themselves.
^ As long as this remains true, I don't think there should be a problem.

Next paragraph it says:

Airlines will also have a big incentive to present much higher basic prices when customers shop anonymously to encourage them to provide more information about themselves in order to see “special deals.”

Here is another interesting article... and note the focus on NDC. That is likely the thing which DL was/is using to mine and store personal and demographic info about us.

http://atwonline.com/it-distribution...+Daily+News%29

IATA says its NDC project aims to enable airlines to create personalized offers for travel shoppers based on demographic information, loyalty status, history with the airline and other factors.

What about, say, showing me the same price list, but with a note saying "Because you're a Preferred Customer, you get 10% off"? What about them sending me a coupon for 10% off because I bought stuff before? What about them offering me free upgrades because I bought stuff before?

Bringing this one from the deep archives... If you will run the script in post #1 again you will get to see alot of the stuff again. Yes, it is marked as V01 to V37 instead of the previous code. The order of variables has slightly changed, and some of the data is replaced with codes, but you can figure out most of it.

This is the first time I'm seeing this thread. If anyone can post explanations of what they have figured out with what the various fields mean, I am very curious. I suspect it would be a lot easier to figure out what fields mean what if you have seen this data before the obfuscation was added, but the value by themselves don't really stand out as having any meaning to me.

Most of what I see is pretty indecipherable to me, other than my status and SM number. And a lot of the fields are empty - I'm seeing lots of " " with nothing there. No clue what HBEHBXBE and IK,IKTL,NORI mean.
