Figured a highly collaborative effort like this needs a wikipost. As items and codes are confirmed, let's centralize them in one place rather than thumb through hundreds of discussion posts.

I don't take issue with the fact that Delta has been tracking all of this personal information. I think it was just startling to realize the extent to which Delta tries to track our information (annual income, discretionary spend, home value) and analyze it (Mosaic, mindset, customer value), whether accurately or not.

I don't think this is a real privacy issue, but it is a little unsettling at first. Whereas I used to think that Delta will treat me like every other PM, now I know otherwise.

+1 Look, I know everything I do is being tracked, logged, mined, and exploited. Fact of life in these times. But for the love of [deity or deities of your choice], please get the info right. Even somewhat close to right would be nice. I am not a 65+ retired person living in an old but well-off community with a country club membership who's afraid to use technology. And I definitely make more than low double-digits each year.

DL has always treated me well. They often offer to waive fees, and have always made heroic efforts at correcting things both when they are to blame and when I am to blame. During IROPs, I always get to where I need to be in time to do what I need to do. They signed me up for Pre-Check right from the start, and let me SDC, sometimes four times in a single week, while limiting who can do that for free, meaning it's more likely I can get a SDC.

I don't need to compare what they do for me to what they do for others. What they do for me makes them a reliable business partner. That doesn't change now that I know I'm a "6" to them, while others are "7" or "54."

It's not like I just found out my spouse would have rather been with any one of a dozen other men.

I always laugh when I'm checking out at one of those stores using my AmEx and they ask for my phone number - as if they don't already know enough about me just by my card.

Agreed.... unbelievable level of inaccuracy in their assumptions about me. But really what this whole ordeal boils down to is yet another embarrassing SNAFU for Delta's IT department. (This is one of the few times I can use that word for a situation that truly embodies the meaning of SNAFU)

Funny, I bought some makeup at Nordstrom yesterday (just as my Mosaic profile predicted!) & was asked for my phone #...so that next time I came in they'd have my preferences on file. Um, why not look up by my name, or by my Nordstrom card account which was probably pinged even though I used my Amex. @:-)

I like that Kroger sends us coupons for things we buy often & I happily allow them to track me via their Plus card. But I'm certain somewhere in Cincinnati a marketing number cruncher is passing judgement on how much beer & wine we buy. Maybe they have me coded as a BB - big boozer.

Or both.... Just know that Delta thinks you are special....

.....and I do too as long as you have a Delta Amex Credit card and an asspile of discretionary income.....

This is true, and I'm sure exactly what the agent would say if Mr. Hudson called to ask.

Yet everything that is broken about the Delta website remains unfixed.
