Mr. Babb, just as a little suggestion, perhaps as some older 757-200s with AVOD get replaced by 737-900ERs, an idea would be to re-use the seats and systems onto newer 757s without AVOD. This could perhaps be more cost-effective than purchasing new seats and IFE systems for those aircraft.

itsaboutthejourney doesn't either... personally.

It's the loyalty folks who have a problem communicating here.

^ one day I'm sure we'll see some type of commonality within the 757 fleet... Stations like MCO can have some real fun when the 75 eqp swaps and the GA's don't catch it fast enough.

Must have gotten quite a deal.
This is a swap/sale of AirTran birds by WN and DL.

WN desperatelly wanted to get rid of these, and from what I read made quite a few consessions to move them.

Thanks for your updates, Chris.

Is there a reason why the 75E only has 11 EC seats and all are on the left?

I took my once a decade TATL flight in coach and made a dreadful error in picking the wrong seats (at least in the eyes of my family)!

Hi Chris,

I have a flight on DL107 in early March (FRA-JFK) on a B764. I see you only mention 767s with PTVs here, will mine have it in Y?

Also, what is the seat pitch difference in EC? Seatguru says none.

Thanks.

Brian

All of the 764s have AVOD, so you'll be fine.

FRA-JFK is a 767-300ER, not a 764. The 764 operates FRA-ATL and FRA-DTW. In any case, all FRA-USA flights have flatbeds in Business and PTVs at every seat.

Chris,

Thanks for the very informative thread, and the best job of follow up I have ever seen from a Delta rep on FlyerTalk.

Thanks, Chris, for all the updates and taking time to answer questions.

Does anyone want to do the work of combining all the info into one single post?

Also, I have another suggestion that should be considered. As the 767-300ER fleet gets retrofitted with AVOD, the Rockwell Collins Airshow moving map system is being replaced by the Panasonic iXplor moving map, which is built into the Panasonic eFX/eX2 system.

Rather than letting these Airshow systems going to waste, an idea would be to transplant them onto 757s with overhead video. This would be much better than seeing the dancing "No Signal" and "Monitor Going to Sleep in XX seconds" messages (or nothing at all) on the new LCDs when nothing is being played. The 737-800s with overhead video have Airshow, so perhaps it would be a good idea to re-use the Airshow systems pulled from the 767-300ERs and transplant them onto the 757s with overhead video.

On the -300 all BE seats are between doors 1 & 2
On the -200 22 BE seats are between doors 1 & 2 with 12 seats aft of door 2
Nice! So the A332s will be GAINING 2 BE seats!!!

@Chris,

Thanks for bringing this information to the group here, the updates are well appreciated.

A quick question on the choice of "F" seat for the new 739ERs and 753 birds. While the seat is plenty comfortable for the short hops the -88s and -90s make, I presume the 739s and 753s will do more longer-hauls domestically. Seems like there may have been an opportunity to invest in a better F seat on those birds. Understand the cushions will be changed, but with the reduced pitch, wasn't there another option, or is it cost driven?

Thanks,
G

The pitch in first class is 37" across the majority of the domestic fleet, so I don't see any reduction here. The A319 brings up the rear with 36", while the 75J leads with 39-40".

What voltage level are the USB outlets? Specifically are they high enough to charge iPads? The current ones are only enough for iPhones.

Overall, very good news if you ask me, especially the 757-300 upgrades. I'm already excited for these 739s.
