Sure, let's meet up in the SC... as soon as you tell me where it is!

No SC. Are you going to be working in the are? Hartford or Springfield?

I edited my OP to reflect that both itineraries have BDL as the final destination. I didn't catch that the fare rules for the first nonstop ATL-BDL-ATL call BDL HFD. I've never heard of that before.

Neither did I, which is why I asked. Must be a Delta specific thing, possibly left over from ancient history.

HFD just means all Airports in Hartford (only one) just like NYC means EWR JFK and LGA.

No, HFD refers specifically to Brainard Airport and thus cannot be used as a group identifier as are NYC, LON, PAR and WAS.

Not true anymore. Look at the fare calculation for any fare to BDL---the pricing airport code will be HFD.

Yup, that's how DL uses it but Google "airport code HFD" and you will see it is Brainard. That's true of all the airport code search sites.

You're right. I'm wrong. Delta sucks.

When I type HFD into ITA it has two results:
  1. Airport: Hartford/Springfield Bradley Int'l (BDL)
  2. City: Hartford, CT

Yes probably because it's a common error.

No SC??? How could Delta not put a SC in your home airport? Don't they know who you are? ;)

I'll be working in Hartford and will probably be up there quite a bit for at least the rest of the year.

BDL has a US lounge in the other wing that's quite nice. An AmEx regular Plat charge card gets you in the door even if not flying US. They are very welcoming to DL passengers.

Another ludicrous example of holding back V inventory to prevent window upgrades.

I was on DL 65 ATL-LAX on Saturday 9/8. V0 inventory all along according to EF alert.

I was on a T fare and was #12 of 18 for 22 seats on a 763. All UG's were cleared and as I was boarding over heard the GA ask if any Y pax on K fare or higher wanted to upgrade for $150. There were no takers and at least 2 seats in F were empty. Figured they would put non revs there but maybe there weren't any on the plane.

Don't forget that alot of companies do not let their employees purchase first class tickets, even if they are cheaper. Then again, as stated previously, P is not fully refundable and changeable, while Y is.

It's market segmentation. Kettles are more profitable than business travelers.

Rather than posting pictures of fare differences, would people please read the freaking fare rules for each fare before posting a complaint in this thread?

Why? Then that would lead to an apples-to-apples comparison and doesn't back up the FT crazy that gets whipped up on this site.

Delray....don't ever confuse them with the truth.....especially when they demand service for which they are unwilling to pay.

Go ahead, explain how the ability to change a flight without penalty is worth $500 more than a First-Class seat, given that (1) the flight is in 6 hours (so guess the likelihood of the passenger desiring to change it), and (2) a one-way ticket in coach on another flight is available for under $500.
