Have to chime in that it finally seems to work much better lately when you have only a 3G connection. I've been using it since Android 2.2 on an HTC Evo (Spring 2011), but it seemed to work consistently (not having to Force Close or even restart the phone) unless using 4G/Wi-Fi.

So my props for the improvements. ^

I really do like the app, but the push notifications are kind of nuts. I generally get about 20-30 in the 24 hours before a flight. I'm assuming most of these are gate changes, and perhaps adjustments of the arrival time. It would be nice if all "unessential" updates were suppressed until say 3 hours before a flight.

Am not able to select EC seats on the AMS-MSP or MSP-AMS leg using the app. I can select preffered seats and exit row seats (row 29) without any problem when using the app.

Have purchased M fare tickets and am SM Plat so either way normally selecting those seats shouldn't be a problem.
I logged on at the Delta website and was able to selct the seats there with no problems. After selecting them there and starting the app i can select and change to any other EC seats on the plane without any problems.

Afterwards to test/check i selected a non EC seat, saved and restarted the seat selection using the app but after the restart...again not able to select an EC seat using the app.

The app works great for me, but I want the updated one. Any chance that Delta will release the "new and improved" app for Droid, instead of just for Apple?

The current version doesn't allow selection of EC seats unless you're already in one. The new version will fully support EC seat selection.

It will be coming out very soon.

Last Sunday I missed my connection in MSP due to delays of my prior flight. When we landed my Delta Android app showed me being booked on a later flight. I even could see my seat assignment. What a great feeling of not having to worry about rebooking. I was happy of how great it is being rebooked and knowing it without having to stand in line for an agent.

I stopped by an agent anyway because I found one who didn't had a line on my time killing walk through the airport. I was shocked when she told me that I did not have a reservation. Luckily she still could book me on that plane but the seat was much further back than the one the app previously promised me.

What's going on here? Why was the app showing me on a flight I don't have a seat. And why couldn't Delta automatically rebook me on the flight. They knew the plane landed and I was on it? How can I trust the Delta app ever again?

Just got the new Android app. Seems to work fine, although I don't see any way to check flight status for a flight I'm not booked on.

For my flights home yesterday, I noticed that the flight status information displayed within my active itinerary never matched the time information that shows when I use the flight # link on the mobile BP page within the app. It's as if the latter was never up to date (based on the regular updates that I saw from within my PNR). In general since the last update, the app is noticeably slower for all of its functions, but especially long load times for trip information.

I have almost the same hardware as you other than Sprint. I have found i am getting a TON, I mean almost always, it searching forever, leave the app, and at some point get it has stopped working and crashed. I like the new perks of the app but it works so bad now I have almost stopped using it. Most frustrating. But has motivated a post on the way so there is that! ;)

After logging in, there's a "Check Flight Status" selection between the "Book a Flight" and "My Delta" selections. You can check any flight's status by flight number or by city pairs.

Android Tablets?
 
I just got a Nexus 10. The app kind of works, except any time I try to view flight details (by clicking on a flight number), airport or Sky Club information, or flight schedules, it crashes.

I'm guessing that it's not fully supported for tablets yet?

Also, the random missing UG list link persists to this day...worked on my flight this morning, but not my flight this afternoon (both mainline, major market flights on 757s).

This has been occurring a lot more frequently for me lately as well when on wifi and using the links within an active itinerary (e.g., flight status query via flight number).

incorrect EZE terminal information
 
The gate information for my EZE-ATL segment yesterday was not only never updated to show the assigned gate, but it also incorrectly lists this flight as departing from Terminal A. This flight departs from Terminal C.

Because of this error, I had a long walk with my luggage from Terminal A to Terminal C.

int'l.-dom. segments with single DL flt. #
 
DL 110 ATL-LAX is the continuation of DL 110 EZE-ATL, but the DL app removed my entire return trip even though I had only flown the first segment. The app programming should be smart enough to not do this.

In addition, sometimes flight status information is incorrectly displayed for the same-day domestic segment in an itinerary where that connecting segment sharing the same flight number is not flown until the following day.

The latest update that came out for this app does not work at all on my Nexus tablets. It crashes as soon as you try to launch, before the splash screen even comes up. And even on my android phone, the app force close much more frequently than in the past.

Disappointing, to say the least.
