We're working on making sure we mark this as optional and degrade the functionality correctly for this and a few other items marked as required that also hinder the ability to install the application on the Kindle Fire.

Would it be possible to keep the upgrade/standby list and seat map viewing options available until after the flight departs? They seem to stay available for a few minutes after boarding but then disappear.

It would also be very helpful if the app had a way of showing you that you have cleared standby or cleared your upgrade. Now you just disappear from the upgrade list and have to assume that this means that you've been upgraded. i.e. it still shows your old seat, no your new one.

Is the list not coming up at all after you board or is it that your name has dropped from the list.

If it is the former, the service we use is the same as the screens at the gate use. Once you've scanned your boarding pass the service no longer returns your name.

As far as having a cleared list, that too is an item on the list of functionality we'd like to get into the mobile applications. It's just a matter of working our way through that list :)

Any chance of turning off the forced-portrait mode or to have a tablet-specific version? I use my tablet in landscape mode since I have a keyboard case for it and have to stare at it sideways since the app only displays in portrait.

The links to view the seat map/change seat selection, and to view the upgrade/standby list, go away at some point after boarding but before the flight has departed.

Also, the seat assignment on the itinerary display does not change after you've been upgraded. It still shows your original economy seat.

This is one I would like to see as well... not only for Android, but also for iPads, and particularly the new ones. All that beautiful screen resolution available and it can only blow up the iPhone-sized interface. Could open up the possibility of some cool new features too once that larger screen can be taken advantage of.

I am always having issues with the "loading information" part where the app just loads forever. Once, I let it run for almost 20 minutes before killing the app and restarting it.

Also, I noticed that the SkyPriority banner is gone [been a few months since I last flew on DL] and my Zone is blank. I have quite few DL flying coming up and I hope this won't create any issues for me when I encounter the security dragon that guards the priority security lanes.

Danny, I know this is a thread about the android app, rather than iOS. However, I thought this would be a straightforward way to contact you.

Whenever I open the iOS FlyDelta app, it shows "Check In (1)", with reference to a flight I took (PDX-LHR) in May. If I go to View My Trips, both PDX-MSP and MSP-LHR segments still show up. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, with no luck.

This is interesting. I flew DXB-AMS-ATL-STL Tuesday. The flight from DXB was delayed 45 minutes, but my connections were fine. I'm in STL now.

Today I looked at the Android App to retrieve my eTicket number and was surprised to see a message about the delay and an option available to search suggested flights and rebook for tomorrow, August 30, from DXB-ATL-STL.

I chose the 10:35 p.m. departure. The app then takes me to an "Accept these Flights" button, and after that asks me to "Confirm" at no additional charge.

I'm not going to press it, but am very curious what would happen if I press "confirm?" Anyone ever done it?

My apologies on not keeping on top of this thread (as well as others). I'll try and be more diligent with keeping up.

On the Android version we've enabled landscape mode when it comes to almost all screens with keyboard interaction. The one exception is the screen that you go to for looking up an airport code.

Tablet support is one of the items on our road map.


For the upgrade list, that would have to do with how the status of the segment changes. We'll look into if there's a way to still show it while that segment is still active and you've boarded.

For the seat issue, we'll take a look into that and see what's going on.


We've gotten reports of the "loading information" and we continue to try and find a reason for it. We'll continue to investigate and hope to get this resolved.

As for the missing Zone and Sky Priority from the EBP, let me see what is going on with that.

Since the DXB-AMS segment got delayed more than 30 minutes your flight is now considered IROP'd. As a result you can book yourself on any of the flights that get returned at no charge.

One of the most annoying bugs in the app is that if your android is set to another default language but US-English or Spanish, no seat maps will show up but always an error. This is the same as on DL.com and has not been addressed since 2007 :(

Furthermore:

• if you have more than 10 trips with DL, the start-up takes extremely long. I am stuck at the "Downloading Itins" for almost two minutes before I can see anything.
• the App writes massive bug reports and crashes frequently. I delete those files once very two weeks, since it's eating 14MByte from my non-extensible Galaxy Nexus
• sometimes all data is lost and you have to KILL the app or press "home", then "logout", and "log-in" again. A simple restart will not show any active Itins.

I just got a Samsung Galaxy S3 today, and the first thing I did was download the Fly Delta app. Overall, I quite like our, but I do seem to be having one issue.

If I go to one of my itineraries and look at my seats, it correctly shows which seats I'm assigned, but doesn't show any other seats blocked. For example, on an LHR-MSP flight in mid-November, only seats 19C, D, E; 30C, D, E; 45A, B, F, G and 46C, D, E are blocked.

I've just checked the same itinerary on my iPhone and my laptop (using Chrome); they appear to be having the same issue.

It looks like you have for work cut or for you this weekend.

I'm still having this same problem. I've had 5 or 6 notifications in the last hour, starting at 6 hours pre scheduled departure. None of them are readable due to the font colors. Clicking on them just brings me to the Fly Delta app home screen with no additional information.
