Read post 844 for tips on being approved for the business card.
It may be easier to get approved for a new business with 0 years and $0 gross income.

Also see the Applying for Business Credit Cards [Consolidated] thread (not-BofA-specific) for general tips on applying for business cards.

Business card Recon Line:
April 2024: BOA Biz Recon (Small Biz Lending, Credit Analyst) 888-782-7717, 888-569-4439 (M-F 8am-7pm EST), both answered by live human in 2-4 minutes. (Both numbers confirmed multiple times in the past 2-3 days.)
866-695-6598 (8-7pm EST M-F)
Biz card status line: 888 663 6262 (not working)
Biz Card credit analyst line: 888-782-7717
Biz card expedited shipping: wait 24 hours after approval for a card number to generate then call 800-901-9830 and a person will answer. If 1st Rep says "no" ask him/her to ck. with a supervisor. This worked for me.

Credit Inquiries
Credit Inquiries for Personal cards come from BofA. Inquiries for business cards come from FIA.
Credit bureaus usually merge inquiries from the same requester made on the same day.
Inquiries from BofA and FIA will not be merged.

Does one have to call BoA to lower a card's credit limit?
Yes, there is no longer any way to contact BOA online. Phone is the only method currently.

When do the initial bonus miles post? You will get the miles after the statement closes for the cycle in which you meet your minimum spend. Usually AS points show up the Sunday evening after your statement closes, but sometimes it takes an additional week.

If there's a statement credit, when does it post?
It seems to be batch-processed. It will post automatically. Can be on the same statement or the next statement. It does not appear to be based on the statement close date.

Can you send a secure message through your account online?
No. BOA has removed the secure message functionality, even for Preferred members. The only way to contact BOA now is to call them.

Can I apply for another personal Alaska card if I have one open already?
Some people still can, but these days many people get denied. If you don't want to risk getting denied, it's probably better if you close any existing personal Alaska cards before applying for another one. But be sure to lower credit limit as low as possible at least a few business days before you close the card (though the earlier you can do it the better), because credit limit that's left on the card when you close it stays unavailable to new card applications for a year or more (while credit limit that's lowered as a separate step becomes available to new card applications much sooner)!

Edit i just counted my wife previous AS cards; she previously had 6 AS Pers+bus and got approved for a new Personal AS this past week.
I'm just counting my previous closed 6 personal cards. There might be some sort of max number for the # of personal cards AS cards you can have.

Just found letter with personal code (15-digits) to apply for AS 35K mile offer. But, it expired on June4.
Can I still use that code and get card with 35K miles offer? No $100 credit though.
Also, since business version will not impact my credit score/not show up in my credit report, it is advisable to apply for business card the same day as personal or wait 30 days between applications?

IMO the $100 credit is worth more than 5K AS miles

I read a few pages back. Decided to go ahead and apply.
Just another DP, applied for AS Signature, got instant approval. Also applied for AS business and got pending notice. Hopefully it gets approved.
First time applying for BoA, no current relationship, many years ago(prob 5 or 6) I had a shared checking account with them.

Given our balances I can take a break just as my wife has since 2/2016

Obviously it would be much tougher for a single person but with 3 people and SW CP it's easy and since I have no interest in MS any more cards would have me sitting on thousands of Costco and HYvee gift cards.

A ~ 2 year break will let me get a cap one card again and open me up at every bank plus I am closing in on 7 years for some Amex cards, Gold Bus, etc

The 30K AS card is not worth it to me now that AS dropped Delta as a partner and want a $75 AF not offset by a statement credit. The flight times on AA via AS are AWFUL, I can fly MSP/BDL for 12.5K on DL in ~ 2 hours with several departures per day or use AA via AS and the one flight they offer takes ~ 7 hours assuming no delay on the connection.

Our plan is to get enough AS miles for 2 one way MSP/HNL in first, currently 80K each then we are done with AS cards.

The AA business card is every 24 months and is on my list for December 2017.

If they go 10/48 ( which is not going to happen, maybe 3/24 or 1/12 or once per lifetime) I'll use the 5 million or so points I have and get cards in 4 years............of course I'll be retired at that point and living half the year in CT and half in Florida so I won't have as much a need for points/miles as all we will need is Vegas flights.
If you do not do international travel, you do not need to cumulate the AS cards which most here are for the cheap redemption to Asia on CX and JL, to South Africa on CX., to South Pacific on CX and Fiji (if you could find business class seats that is). And the desire to fly EK F for the onboard shower novelty.

Apparently none of the above fits your travel needs. Therefore it is only sensible that once you get enough miles for the trip to Hawaii in F, you no longer need the AS miles.

Agree on many DL routes - they are better scheduled than AA's and surprisingly DL these days is NOT the stingy one while currently AA availability is even worse than DL at its old days.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but that is a pretty meaningless datapoint: for it to be of real value you need to provide context, for example provide your recent BoA history, especially as regards opening & closing AS cards. otherwise you might as well say, "datapoint: I had breakfast today"

Does anyone know the process to petition for the Signature signup bonus (30k+$100 SC) after getting approved for the Platinum at first, then increasing the CL to upgrade to the Signature (not duplicate application method).

Yea, I should.

When I was instantly approved for the personal card, the approval screen did not say which card I was approved for. Is there a way to find out before I receive physical card?

you could probably call up and ask them what the CL is on it. < $5K will be platinum. $5k+ will be signature

we applied for my wife 10 days ago for personal AS, got approved after clearing a credit report freeze, then we applied for business AS, it went pending, my wife had 2 previous business cards, the only difference is we used 0 years and 0 income, in the past we used my company EIN, this time we got a letter it stated that they are not going to offer business credit, and they stated that if we open a $1,500 12 month CD they will reconsider the application, anyone had similar experience!
