Read post 844 for tips on being approved for the business card.
It may be easier to get approved for a new business with 0 years and $0 gross income.

Also see the Applying for Business Credit Cards [Consolidated] thread (not-BofA-specific) for general tips on applying for business cards.

Business card Recon Line:
April 2024: BOA Biz Recon (Small Biz Lending, Credit Analyst) 888-782-7717, 888-569-4439 (M-F 8am-7pm EST), both answered by live human in 2-4 minutes. (Both numbers confirmed multiple times in the past 2-3 days.)
866-695-6598 (8-7pm EST M-F)
Biz card status line: 888 663 6262 (not working)
Biz Card credit analyst line: 888-782-7717
Biz card expedited shipping: wait 24 hours after approval for a card number to generate then call 800-901-9830 and a person will answer. If 1st Rep says "no" ask him/her to ck. with a supervisor. This worked for me.

Credit Inquiries
Credit Inquiries for Personal cards come from BofA. Inquiries for business cards come from FIA.
Credit bureaus usually merge inquiries from the same requester made on the same day.
Inquiries from BofA and FIA will not be merged.

Does one have to call BoA to lower a card's credit limit?
Yes, there is no longer any way to contact BOA online. Phone is the only method currently.

When do the initial bonus miles post? You will get the miles after the statement closes for the cycle in which you meet your minimum spend. Usually AS points show up the Sunday evening after your statement closes, but sometimes it takes an additional week.

If there's a statement credit, when does it post?
It seems to be batch-processed. It will post automatically. Can be on the same statement or the next statement. It does not appear to be based on the statement close date.

Can you send a secure message through your account online?
No. BOA has removed the secure message functionality, even for Preferred members. The only way to contact BOA now is to call them.

Can I apply for another personal Alaska card if I have one open already?
Some people still can, but these days many people get denied. If you don't want to risk getting denied, it's probably better if you close any existing personal Alaska cards before applying for another one. But be sure to lower credit limit as low as possible at least a few business days before you close the card (though the earlier you can do it the better), because credit limit that's left on the card when you close it stays unavailable to new card applications for a year or more (while credit limit that's lowered as a separate step becomes available to new card applications much sooner)!

Well this is interesting:

Applied for Business Alaska card on 8/28/19.
Got the "pending further information".
Called on 9/5 or 9/6 and was told it was "recommended for approval with $11k CL but waiting verification". I asked if they would email, call, etc. Was told they would call for verification.
Yesterday, still no call. I logged into my BofA online account (I have regular checking and two other personal credit cards with them) and I see my Business Alaska account showing up there now.

So I'm guessing I was approved.
I put down 1 year in business (which is true), with $17k gross sales (true), and I have a DBA (also true).

Alaska personal #1 - opened 6/20/2016, closed 2/15/2017
Alaska business #1 - opened 2/15/2017, closed 3/2/2018
Alaska personal #2 - opened 9/22/2017, still open

Sounds like I will NOT become eligible for another personal bonus on 9/22/2019, even if I close my account today? (the 24mo rule says "had", not "opened")

But I should be eligible for another business bonus, yes?

Correct.

The terms state: "This card will not be available to you if you currently have or have had the card in the preceding 24 month period. This does not apply to the business credit card product."

Business Alaska

4 year LLC. Income 12k year.

May, app#1. Asked for a crapload of docs. Art of Org, last 2 year returns. Never got around to submitting docs and app expired.

Aug, opened personal checking to take advantage of $300 sub. DD from day job sent here.

Aug, app#2. Took about 2 weeks, got a phone call with tentative approval pending receipt of verification. This time they just asked for articles. Just got the card this week.

Pulled TU in NY.
FICO 780ish. Little less the second app since I put 5 fresh INQs within 5 months, 2 being BOA.

Instant denial. Will see whether it appears as a HP.

edit: they pulled TU

Odd -- whole reason I came back to BoA is because I've been taking it easy this year (only 4 INQ since Jan), which is usually what they like to see. Might be blacklisted for past churning.

I applied for the business card following the guidance on 0 years/$0 in this thread. I was a little concerned when I got the "we'll let you know by mail" message and then silence for a couple of weeks. The card came in the mail today, though, so all's well that ends well.

How many INQ on TU in the last 6 months?
Barclay's is really sensitive to TU inquiries in the past 6 month. Usually more than 2 will get you denied. (at least in my experience)

At the time I applied, zero. (Most recent TU INQ was Dec 19, 2018, until now)

Also forgot to mention: I had a mailer from BoA directing me to apply for this Biz card. I don't think it was targeted to me specifically -- offer was identical to the public offer, and the URL code was quite generic. All in all, it didn't help.

Curious to see what the denial letter says!

BofA also seems to possibly look kindly upon a longer-term relationship with the bank. Perhaps you shouldn't have "left" BofA and had to "come back" to it? Perhaps you should open a no-AF card at BofA, even if it seems like something you have no interest in, just so you can keep a BofA account open "forever"? (Then use it once or twice a year for something cheap, just to keep them from cancelling for inactivity.)

I'm not saying it's a panacea, but it may help in some "borderline" situations perhaps.

Applied and approved for Virgin Atlantic MC and then applied for Alaska Business card. Virgin was approved instantly and Alaska approved over the weekend. Already have Alaska business card open.

Did you apply with new a business or the same info as the accounts you had already opened.

I've had 3 no-AF cards (Cash Rewards, Travel Rewards, Merrill+) open for a few years, with small-dollar spend once or twice a year to keep them alive. Plus the personal Alaska.

Speak of the devil, I just got the request for business documents, legal structure, audited financials, etc. So I guess the app is still alive! I don't have any of those doc -- I applied as sole proprietor / $0 income / founded Sept '19 -- so will skim the thread for ideas or just call recon and explain. I do have a legit (unincorporated) side business I can talk about if they press.
