Credit Inquiries
Credit Inquiries for Personal cards come from BofA. Inquiries for business cards come from FIA.
Credit bureaus usually merge inquiries from the same requester made on the same day.
Inquiries from BofA and FIA will not be merged.
Does one have to call BoA to lower a card's credit limit?
Yes, there is no longer any way to contact BOA online. Phone is the only method currently.
When do the initial bonus miles post? You will get the miles after the statement closes for the cycle in which you meet your minimum spend. Usually AS points show up the Sunday evening after your statement closes, but sometimes it takes an additional week.
If there's a statement credit, when does it post?
It seems to be batch-processed. It will post automatically. Can be on the same statement or the next statement. It does not appear to be based on the statement close date.
Can you send a secure message through your account online?
No. BOA has removed the secure message functionality, even for Preferred members. The only way to contact BOA now is to call them.
Can I apply for another personal Alaska card if I have one open already?
Some people still can, but these days many people get denied. If you don't want to risk getting denied, it's probably better if you close any existing personal Alaska cards before applying for another one. But be sure to lower credit limit as low as possible at least a few business days before you close the card (though the earlier you can do it the better), because credit limit that's left on the card when you close it stays unavailable to new card applications for a year or more (while credit limit that's lowered as a separate step becomes available to new card applications much sooner)!

Just denied for personal card for the first time because of too many other credit card applications. At 15/24 with a credit score over 800. Called recon and said they'd look over the application and get back in 5-7 business days. Have 3 other BOA cards and well under their app rules.

Already have the personal card, and I wanted to go for the business (no previous BoA biz relationship, though I do have a CIC on my SSN w/ Chase).
Applied for the card, but it didn't ask me any questions about my business or earnings structure: just personal information (though I quadruple-checked that the application was for the business card).
I got a generic "We'll get back to you" message and a reference number, but can't find anywhere to use the reference number. Haven't called yet. Hope I didn't do something wrong and apply for a personal and get a HP or something :/

My 1 year is coming up and I don't use the BoA or fly Alaska, so I thought it time to cancel and avoid the $75 fee. Little did I know it would take half and hour and be unsuccessful.
Call #1 BoA the woman says I may lose my points and I should contact Alaska. I don't believe her, and after a 5 minute wait she returns and says "they might probably be lost" which again tells me she is clueless. (18 min)
Call #2 the Alaska agent confirms they won't be lost (2 minutes)
Call #3 BoA woman says it is 3am and I need to call back at 8am Eastern as she can't cancel the card. (6 minutes)

Just for clarity, you'll get a HP regardless of whether you applied for the personal or business AS. From the above it sounded like you might have thought a business application didn't result in a HP.

Yep, a business card in good standing won't show up on a CR as opened, which helps with the Chase 5/24 rule. But it will show as an HP.

So I read a couple posts on reddit daily threads that now even the lower-tier Platinum card will get the original 30k/companion bonus?
Looking at the terms and conditions now: https://www.bankofamerica.com/credit...M&locale=en_US
It no longer makes any mention of $50/5000 lower bonus for Platinum Plus.
Do we have data points on this?

Love to know any DP about this as well. Applied back to back two cards yesterday, 1st Prem Reward Travel got 14K CL, AS approved sadly for only CL 2.5K, which won't make the signature card. If the platinum now has the same bonus as the signature, that will be happy news to many! Any DP?

The $100 credit limit liniks occasionally expire and have to be replace with new ones. They originate from when you're booking a flight on the Alaska website. You might try doing a dummy booking (just don't confirm the last step where it takes your payment) and you should get such an offer somewhere along the way.

Funny, I actually tried the dummy booking yesterday, but I guess I didn't go far enough into the process to get the $100 offer.

I don't know what you did (if you click on the business card application, the first link says business card right in the URL,but after you click "apply now", it doesn't), but on the first page after click Apply Now, from the business card splash page, pretty near the top, the first things it asks you (after giving you a chance to log in) are:Get started

Applied for the Business Card (for real!) yesterday. Got approved today. Just said Sole Proprietor business with $1k revenue. Got an instant HP.
