As an additional resource for these cards see this thread: Alaska Airlines Visa

PERSONAL CARDS

+2k miles if done with onboard paper application

30k mile offer with $100 credit and fee for companion ticket waived the first year, $75 AF, $1k spend: https://secure.bankofamerica.com/app...aignid=4020594

30k mile offer with $100 credit, $75 AF, $1k spend: https://secure.bankofamerica.com/app...aignid=4009277

If you are applying for a personal Alaska card, and are not an expert on applying for Alaska cards STOP, don't apply yet.
Instead, read this post. Doing that first may save you a huge amount of wasted time and frustration.

A few people in the Alaska Airlines forum have in the past received personally targeted, single-use links for a 50k offer
when they opt-in to "Partner Offers" in their Mileage Plan account preferences.

=======================================

BUSINESS CARDS

30k mile offer, $75 AF, $1k spend, no foreign transaction fees:
https://www.bankofamerica.com/smallb...-credit-card//

Note: There are two different earning formats for the business card, which you choose when you apply:
  • $50 per company, $25 per card (Business Level Earning Plan)
    • $0 per company, $75 per card (Individual Level Earning Plan)

To avoid billing confusion later, make sure you choose the Individual Level Earning Plan if you are not going to have employee cards under the same account as your account.

Also see the Applying for Business Credit Cards [Consolidated] thread (not-BofA-specific) for general tips on applying for business cards.

Reconsideration # (for personal cards):

1-800-354-0401 (8am-7pm ET Mon-Fri) direct, referring agent from another BofA line called it their "credit department"

1-866-811-4108 from the Alaska Airlines Visa thread post 949

Business card Recon Line:
866-695-6598 (8-7 EST M-F from what I was told)

Biz card status line: 888 663 6262
Biz Card credit analyst line: 877 665 5022, 877 665 5023 (seems to be non-working number)

Check application status online here:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Credit Enquiries for Personal cards come from BofA. Enquiries for business cards come from FIA. Credit bureaus usually merge enquiries from the same requester made on the same day. Enquiries from BofA and FIA will not be merged.

When do the initial bonus miles post? You will get the miles after the statement closes for the cycle in which you meet your minimum spend. Usually AS points show up the Sunday evening after your statement closes, but sometimes it takes an additional week.

If there's a statement credit, when does it post?
It seems to be batch-processed. It will post automatically. Can be on the same statement or the next statement. It does not appear to be based on the statement close date.

Just applied and was approved for 3 Personal apps using the booking method.

1. I froze my EX credit report a few weeks back so when I started to talk to the rep she said that all of the apps were pushed to pending immediately due to a frozen report. I asked her if she could use TU instead... she said no problem.
2. To note I had 3x personal AS cards already (1 from december, 2 from March 1st). I closed all three of these last Thursday in hopes that the credit goes back into my "pool".
3. She asked if I wouldn't mind being put on hold, then I mentioned that before she approves me for anything that I'd really like to be considered for the visa signature (5k minimum) per card (since that's the only one that gets the 25k miles).
4. She came back almost 5 minutes later saying she approved all 3 of them, 15k in credit total!

Happy Day!

I just applied for 2 using fake booking but didnt freeze credit. 1st app instant approval $20K. 2nd went to pending, system marked it as duplicate. Called in to -4108 number in Wiki. That routed me to wrong location, they bumped me to the new accounts division. The gentleman I spoke with was more than willing to approve my 2nd app, pulling credit limit from the approved app. I think I could have asked to move all lines to 5K and kept applying but going with the slow and steady method now - 2 apps per quarter. I have one of my oldest credit lines with BOA (early 90s) so not sure what impact this had on process.

Closing Cards

How are cards being closed? Is there a way using chat or messaging which avoids the phone. This would be especially helpful for canceling my wife’s cards.

The following (from the Wiki) may be helpful to you:

If there's a statement credit, when does it post:

Happy says:
Totally random. It seems it is batch-processed. Among 4 cards we have had, the quickest posted a week after meeting spend, the slowest posted 18 days after meeting spend. The other two were approx 2 weeks. Completely luck of draw when yours would be processed by who knows when is the cut off time for a batch.

It will post, automatically. Can be on the same statement or the next statement. When the statement closes seems totally irrelevant.

Not in my experience. I wasted 15 minutes trying to close a card via chat, only to have them tell me (after many questions) that I actually needed to call to close it. Why couldn't they have told me that at the beginning?

Also, they ask you why you want to close the card. A month or two ago I asked people (who apply for a lot of AS cards and thus must close a lot of AS cards eventually) when they close them and what they say when asked "why are you closing this card?", but no one ever replied.

I met the spending on 2 cards on 6/1. Still no $100 SC. Called the BoA CS rep and they were as clueless as you can get. They keep saying that they don't see the SC on the system. Still waiting for the credit.

My $100 didn't arrive for almost 10 weeks. You've been waiting 3 days, so check back at the end of summer.

I applied for one with the $100 credit today. Application went into pending status. Called up the customer care to get it approved. They say i have to wait for 30 days as the status still shows as pending from their side as well and they can approve it but have to wait fo the credit team?

Is there any other number i should call for getting this approved.

Anyone?

I'm interested too. Our churn team has 12 new cards in the last month and will need to use this info in the near future.

I have mixed experiences - all our cards EXCEPT one, were able to close via online chat. All my FTer friends were able to do the same as well. However we could not close my husband's last card online. Tried 2 chat reps both took only a few minutes away "checking" then came back to tell us he must call but he was given a "direct number" to Specialist - reason given was that system would flag some "valuable" customers' cards could not be closed online as the bank wanted to know what it could do to make the customer to stay.

In reality though, I believe the only reason why this card could not be closed online is because the card was breached right at the eve of our long trip - someone charged over $2K from CA and we got the BofA alert email - we were to leave on a 40 days trip the next day when that happened - I tried to identify the fraudulent charge using online function but found that was WAY TOO CUMBERSOME! There were like 1/2 doz ID verification type questions to go thru, including the exact date you got the card! I gave up and just called. After a few questions and brief discussion, the card was stopped, and a replacement card issued. We saw the new number online when we finally had access to internet (the first 12 days of the trip was on a cruise crossing Atlantic). However, the replacement card was NOT in the mail pile when we returned home. Chat rep said the replacement card was sent in March - that is not possible as the breach occurred on Apr 18th. She said the breach was occurred on Mar 18th. Heck I have a screen shot of that account activity, knowing BofA system would completely wipe out the records once a new card is issued! It is on April 18. We sailed on April 19.

Since we really are prepared to cancel the card I told the chat rep not to be bothered about resending a new card. The next day we called the number given, to cancel the card. Sure enough, instead of waiting the usual 10 to 15 min to get a human being from BofA, it only took 2 rings! This "specialist" said, looks like this card was opened for a year and now you want to cancel... Not an issue, I could do this for you. AND there is NOT a word on why we want to cancel the card. So the reason given by the chat reps are total BS. The real reason is, the card has had a breach hence it requires to call in. Else, I could not think of anything why ONLY this card required call in - all other cards were a breeze to cancel via chat. And that is not only our experiences, my friends', too.

You are wasting your time. As long as you applied thru the correct link, the credit will show up. When I first did this a couple years ago I called - it took the 4th rep to dig up something about online offer on the credit and she wasn't even sure. I gave up and just let things happened by themselves - credit posted all by itself as it should, somewhere in the middle of the 2nd billing cycle.

I have not called once ever since on all subsequent cards. Never fail to receive the credit which is between a week to 2 weeks.

Wow, yours is the longest wait. I have counted calander days from the day the transaction posted to the day the credit showed up - the most common is between 8 to 12 calendar days, and the longest one has dragged on to 20 calendar days.

The most common scenario is, credit has long showed up BEFORE BofA sends you a letter telling you this feature. I am surprised nobody seems to mention about this on this thread. I got my pair in mid April, promptly met spend and the credits posted just a couple days before our long trip. Returned home and found 2 letters from BofA informing me "now you can earn $100 statement credit" by charging $1000...

I have successfully closed Alaska cards using secure email message (not chat). Get creative with your reasons why; such as, do not like to fly Alaska Air due to in-flight service issues and reason can not call in as "visiting Antarctica and can not call in." If you keep other B of A accounts open, let them know you will still do business the bank with other accounts.

Do NOT recommend you close more than one account via secure message per day of they may push back. Spread it out over a week or more.

For those of you who called after having 2nd and 3rd applications pending, how long did you wait until you called the recon line? I applied last night and called x4108 this morning and after being transferred to the new credit department, the agent told me that it's pending review and there is nothing they can do at the moment. She said they need a decision before she can go in and do anything.

Based on what I've read from most people's comments, it looks like they were able to call and get the decision immediately after the application. If this is your case, can you share with me 1) what number you called, 2) how long you waited before calling, 3) what you told the agent so he/she looked at your application without waiting?
