As an additional resource for these cards see this thread: Alaska Airlines Visa

PERSONAL CARDS

30k mile offer with $100 credit, $75 AF, $1k spend: https://secure.bankofamerica.com/app...aignid=4009277

If you are applying for a personal Alaska card, and are not an expert on applying for Alaska cards STOP, don't apply yet.
Instead, read this post. Doing that first may save you a huge amount of wasted time and frustration.

A few people in the Alaska Airlines forum have in the past received personally targeted, single-use links for a 50k offer
when they opt-in to "Partner Offers" in their Mileage Plan account preferences.

=======================================

BUSINESS CARDS

30k mile offer, $75 AF, $1k spend, no foreign transaction fees:
https://www.bankofamerica.com/smallb...-credit-card//

Note: There are two different earning formats for the business card, which you choose when you apply:
  • $50 per company, $25 per card (Business Level Earning Plan)
    • $0 per company, $75 per card (Individual Level Earning Plan)

To avoid billing confusion later, make sure you choose the Individual Level Earning Plan if you are not going to have employee cards under the same account as your account.

Also see the Applying for Business Credit Cards [Consolidated] thread (not-BofA-specific) for general tips on applying for business cards.

Reconsideration # (for personal cards):

1-800-354-0401 (8am-7pm ET Mon-Fri) direct, referring agent from another BofA line called it their "credit department"

1-866-811-4108 from the Alaska Airlines Visa thread post 949

Business card Recon Line:
866-695-6598 (8-7 EST M-F from what I was told)

Biz card status line: 888 663 6262
Biz Card credit analyst line: 877 665 5022, 877 665 5023 (seems to be non-working number)

Check application status online here:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Credit Enquiries for Personal cards come from BofA. Enquiries for business cards come from FIA. Credit bureaus usually merge enquiries from the same requester made on the same day. Enquiries from BofA and FIA will not be merged.

When do the initial bonus miles post? You will get the miles after the statement closes for the cycle in which you meet your minimum spend. Usually AS points show up the Sunday evening after your statement closes, but sometimes it takes an additional week.

If there's a statement credit, when does it post?
It seems to be batch-processed. It will post automatically. Can be on the same statement or the next statement. It does not appear to be based on the statement close date.

Sure enough, I checked my mail this morning on my way out to work, and only 3 of 4 cards came. I haven't had the opportunity to login online, but when I checked the status of the applications via a link provided earlier, all 4 cards were approved.

Did you have to make 3 separate calls to get each of the three approved? Or all three were approved with just one call?

All 3 were approved in the same call. The rep transferred me to a fraud specialist who verified my identity (I have no history with BofA) and then approved me for the 2nd card. Since the system automatic closed the 3rd and 4th apps as duplicates, the fraud specialist then transferred me back to the original CSR who approved the 3rd and 4th apps.

I need a little advice on getting approval for the signature card. I had planned some travel to Alaska and wanted to use the companion pass. I applied Saturday morning for two cards. One got approved with $1,500 CL and the other got sent to pending.

After approval I called BoA to see when the companion fare would post, and they said 2-3 weeks. Not useful for my upcoming trip (and also reading this thread sounds like the CSR did not know what she was talking about, because I will probably never get it with the classic card).

I've since gone back and read all the posts in this thread since Jan, and have a much better understanding, and the mistakes I made. (Mostly applying when the recon line was down). Thank you especially for Brugge and Happy for there extensive writing about their experiences.

I plan to call when the Recon line opens next week and try to get these approved/changed to signature cards. Best case would be two signature cards and no additional HP, but I'd be happy with one signature card and 'rejecting' the classic card.

I'd love some advice on the best strategy and what to expect. My credit score is low 700s, down from high 700s after a recent round of applications.

I don't have any BoA cards currently, but I have a few high limit cards with Chase and Citi. Some people talked about lowering credit limits before applying. Is that just on BoA cards, or is that on total credit cards?

Brugge talked about upgrading Platinum to Signature. Is it feasible to 'upgrade' classic to signature as well?

Wait for another week or two. The last one will come too.

The talk about lowering credit limits before applying is just for credit limits on other cards at the same bank that you're about to apply at.

If you didn't have any BofA cards before this, it doesn't apply to you.

I only received a 20,000 bonus. Anybody know why? I thought I read a post here within this past month but couldn't find it.

I applied Tuesday night and the points showed up last night. I believe it's for the signature version as my CL is 12K (the card hasn't arrived yet). I've always gotten 25K posted within a few days. This is only my 3rd card since 7/30/13. Card #1 was closed 6/2014. Card #2 is open since 12/2014.

I've received 3 of the 4 cards I was approved for in the mail. I applied using the checkout trick prior to this recent public $100 statement credit public link becoming available (so around 1.5 wks ago). The 25K miles are supposed to be upon approval, but I still haven't received any miles. What's the longest people typically wait before the miles arrive? The app page says 2-3 weeks, but when my wife applied a couple weeks ago, she got the miles before the card arrived in the mail.

Wife and I both approved for 3 cards. My miles posted just a few days after approval. Wife's took a couple of weeks for miles to post. Neither of us have received our cards yet.

It's a national holiday! And who are writing to (who is the "you" in your question)? Nobody who posted today posted anything about calling (today or any other day)!

The wiki above (click the "+" to expand it if you don't see it automatically) shows the (M-F) hours for one number, and it may apply to other numbers too.

But obviously Monday hours don't apply when the Monday is a national holiday.

This post explains that it appears as two separate entries: one for 20k and a separate one for 5k. Sounds like only one of those has posted for you so far.

Look at the picture linked in that post, and compare that to what it says on your statement.

Thanks for your thorough answer! The 5K posted the next day!

So I just called Recon, and this is the answer I got:

1) Based on my banking history with BoA, and the fact that my account has been opened for less than 90 days, they can't increase my credit limit. "The system automatically came back with a decline"

2) "At this time we are only able to approve for one credit card, we aren't able to approve for two"

Is that it? Any advice on how to get the Signature card?

Turns out my BofA cards all came with a new AS account number even though I entered in my correct AS number on the apps. The good thing is that all 4 cards came with the same AS number so my new account has 100k miles. My old account actually has 0 miles. Is it worth calling ether BofA or Alaska to combine the accounts or change the account associated with hour card? Or just leave it as is with he new account? I currently have a pending itinerary for EK on my old account for March 2016.
