Thank you. I might just wait.
Guess i don't have to keep the UA 1k status if I got matched. LOL

Has anyone gotten a physical card from COPA? The digital version on the website never updated for me after they upgraded my status.

No instruments btw, either. Anyone else get those?

They used to show in my account, but the Upgrades button has disappeared from my Profile page. When I called Copa to ask, the CS Agent told me that she could see the certificates in my account, and I could use them if I called the airline to apply them. But I still can't see them in my account. I am also not sure if they can yet be used on flights operated by United.

I'm planning to fly SFO-PTY-AUA in October, so I'll find out pretty soon if my certs actually exist!

Elite Qualification

Just noticed something about elite qualification ... I already knew that earnings on Star Alliance partners was pretty bad with ConnectMiles, but I wasn't sure if the reduced (or zero) earnings also applied to elite qualification. Looks like it does.

On the "Earn Miles" page where the various Star carriers are listed, I see that the charts all say "Base AND Qualifying Miles".

So, good to know ahead of time before booking flights on other Star carriers.

Cool! BTW, did you know the people that get the 1 million miles to UA has to pay taxes on them? It'll be like $20,000!

Re: Upgrades.

Have a RT ticketed in economy T fare. LAS-PTY and PTY-ORD. Should I call in to request the complimentary upgrade and leave to luck? Or should I apply those upgrade instruments ASAP?

Re: Upgrades

Copa has been very good giving upgrades at their status windows for us. To and from the USA (LAS, MCO, ORD) have usually been with empty seats in business. As a Pres Plat, I get mine 4-5 days out. The Mrs as Gold 2-3 days out, and D.D. Silver 1-2 days out. Even have added companions at check-in.

Very PMCO about the whole thing. Better food and drink policies than the US carriers also. I find myself paying a premium for Copa fares to the US, "knowing" we will be upgraded.

Lesson: never pay in CAD for Copa when booking online. Seems things aren't set up properly for it.. been trying to get a ticket issued over several days.

i just got matched from my UA 1K this morning a couple hours after i called in but no matter how i try to access my card online, it still shows blue (despite it saying Platinum on many spots throughout the website). did it ever update for you?

re instruments: the agent i spoke to was so clueless about upgrade certs -- and he couldn't even tell me when my status expired (due to "system maintenance")...blargh.

My online card has remained blue (despite being matched to Presidential Plat) and I've received nothing in the mail.

Has anyone asked for, and received a match from AS MVPG75K?

I have Gold on UA, but maybe CM will match to the higher status.

I told Jonk it took 48 hours for some reason but it may have actually been like 4 days.

But it finally turned black.

Data point. Flying LAS-PTY Saturday. Upgrade cleared today. ^

My status match was granted July 24 and the card is still blue.

Can you status match on Copa, use the Copa status for upgrade and then switch the FF # back to UA for crediting to UA? I've heard of some people playing this game with AA/AS, but wondering if it would work here.
