At first I thought it was an EA game, as it all came up at once (yes engadget is giving some issues now) then I saw it was MLB app, and added full screen video.

But i don't follow baseball enough to care :(

I think the DX is too big, too. ;)

For real reading - like a book - the active matrix display is a killer on the eyes. It just isn't as nice. I get that it has other features that give it more functionality but it isn't a viable option as a true reading device in my mind. And since that is off the table it is just a jumbo screen iPhone. That's fine, I guess, but I'd rather a device that I can do more with than just watch movies and browse the web.

I'm also not their target market and I know that.

I don't think the device is super awesome or anything, in fact, I was hoping it would actually be more focused on eBooks and web browsing and that's it.

While the Kindle display is nice, after seeing the Nexus One OLED screen, the eReader can be done better.

Have I complained about the MyCokeRewards point inflation yet? A 32-ounce PowerAde now required 30 points instead of 24 ...

ahhh Ibooks looks painful already!

that black on white in active matric, just like trying to read my laptop, I agree with sbm12, no thanks! Headache city. I look at screen enough as it is.

I like the split screen for some things (in some ereaders) but the eink IS easier to read than a TFT, I have read from a kindle now.

color eink will be a big step.

I am unsure now tho, is the relationship with publishers direct, or amazon? The engadget details are sketchy now.

Hmm, go to a concert in Houston in September that is outside or go to the same show in Irvine in August outside. The latter involves a miles-earning trip. Hmm.

Irvine. That is all!

Congratulations! Well done! And in such a short amount of time, really! I know it probably felt like forever, but it all seemed to go very quickly once you started looking and found the one you wanted.

Steph3n Jan 27, 2010 12:12 pm

wait, easily connect to projectors?? through the headphone jack or what?!

BTW Price of iwork apps doesn't look bad at all.

Steph3n Jan 27, 2010 12:14 pm

ahaha, maybe it does have USB, they are showing a dongle for 3g at $60 a month....

ehhh hold that thought, NO not using USB, they have a 3g data model using some built in card for $14.99 for 250MB.

unlmited $29.99 on ATT.....ok now this is interesting.

Mackieman Jan 27, 2010 12:14 pm

Haha 250MB of data.

Mackieman Jan 27, 2010 12:15 pm

And by unlimited they really mean horribly limited and if you go over it we'll charge you back to the stone age.

but unlimited is $29.99, I need to jailbreak it an get tether going :D

of course, still gotta deal with AT&Ts terrible network, and no 3g here, so it would be slower than my 1XRTT on Sprint now here.
