OK, Box. Time to head into the city for my first (and hopefully not only) stop on this year's Restaurant Week tour - actually meeting FTer xanthuos at Kellari Taverna. I didn't even notice this place on the list, but it looks good! Drink(s) (it's a school night) somewhere in the area afterwards, if anyone's out and about...

And good it was! mwg25 had mentioned seafood as one of the potential cuisine types she was amenable to having, and I had a craving for Greek...so I managed to find a choice on the list that satisfied both!

From the Restaurant Week menu at Kellari, mwg25 had:
Bakalao Croquettes with skordalia mousse
Paidakia (rib cut grilled lamb chops with oregano potatoes)
and for dessert
Galaktoboureko (vanilla semolina custard with a phyllo crust orange syrup)

I, on the other hand, enjoyed:
Spanakopita (phyllo pies filled with spinach, leeks & feta cheese)
Seafood Yiouvetsi (oven baked orzo pasta, with shrimp, mussels & clams)
and for my dessert
Loukoumades (traditional country style honey fritters)

After dinner, we enjoyed a drink at a bar (The Rum House) my friend's family owns in the Times Square area. mwg25 had to dash off, unfortunately, to catch a train home since it was a school night...but like the trooper I am, I stayed until closing and had a few more drinks to pick up the slack. :D

I wonder what's up with CO renumbering the 752 seats. I asked a CO employee about it when I saw the thread but he was tight lipped.

My thought is that it could be E+ in the pipes which doesn't make much sense since there is a 752 out there with the lie flats right? You'd think they'd want to do the mods at the same time.

Spanakopita YUM YUMMMMMMMMMMMM

I need to make some baklava now

those two together, are incredible, I know that baklava is more middle eastern, but it works will with its non sweet cousins :D

Wishful thinking, but I think the back-half of your statement is accurate.

Correct; I would never recommend Irving over Houston! Irvine though . . .^

Useless fact of the day - Mazda USA is based in Irvine. As for choosing between an outdoor concert in Houston or one in Irvine, there is no choice. I wouldn't even think of Houston in the summer.

That's kinda what I figured. Apple was hiring CDMA engineers like crazy a couple of years ago. A head hunter called me but I had no desire to maintain my pay and move to SFO, a place that is even more expensive than SAN.

Absolutely, there is much to love about SFO and that area, but it is not conducive to moving there without a fairly high paying job, which I did not have, comparatively speaking.

The housing prices were coming down a lot, I actually found some things for quite 'reasonable' by CA standard when i was there last aug.
