Does anyone know if the duty free shops at Terminal C sell bottles of wine? Or is it just liquor? Thanks! |

I'm betting on no too - I can't think of the last time I saw wine by the bottle in an airport. All the people who want cheap good liquor want hard liquor, my guilty vodka-swilling self included.

The Box might recall that I got an itinerary refunded no questions asked when it was downgauged to an RJ...no way in hell was I going to do EWR-MSY in a BarbieJet. The S/O about barely tolerated an RJ from PHL-CLE, and I know that I couldn't handle it all the way to MSY.

Via IAH. It is a 55 minute connection, which should be fun. :D

In the random comment department, there was a kiosk right outside the CO gate at PDX which sold Oregon wines and Rogue beer. Too bad it wasn't open at midnight before I hopped on the red eye. Or maybe that was a good thing. :D |

As for airports that sell wine post-security, SEA has a nice wine shop to the left of the central food court if you're facing the big window area. |

Most DF shops I've seen in Canada, Europe and Asia have some wine available. I've not shopped in one in the USA recently to know. It isn't always good or a good deal, but there is wine available.

The last time I returned to the US by air, liquor was an issue on a per-drink basis. The airport lounge in BGR opened for our planeload of Air Force guys rotating home from the sandbox. My body clock was so screwed up after flying DOH-FRA-BGR (and leaving at 11pm DOH time) that even though my watch told me it was 9am, I really didn't care about having a few drinks. |
I knew my random question would get the box all fired up. I've combined the two most discussed topics: air travel and alcohol in one super question. @:-)
I'm anxiously awaiting the first-hand scouting report... |
A guy was on the phone with me, insisting (!!!) to me that Atlantic City has a Little Italy. When I told him that no such neighborhood existed, I get: "You don't know anything then. Are you the concierge?"
You know what I do know? I know how to make the phone go <click>. I got that trick down real well. I didn't really hang up on him, but I did just feel like venting. |
Post 3,100 - where else but here.

I'm anxiously awaiting the first-hand scouting report... Also, this was harder than it sounds as they are Nazi's about letting you in with out an international ticket in hand. I just told her I left it in my jacket in the P-Club and I didn't plan on buying anything anyway. ETA: POST 600 |
I can see how most people have a love-hate relationship with regional jets. Boarding was a breeze, about 10 minutes to get all 50 passengers seats. I must start by saying I have never been on a regional jet before, so this is my first time. I was surprised at how smooth the ride is. I was expecting to be tossed around and about like a screen door banging in a hurricane, However, I was a bit surprised at how noisy the jet was, given the fact that the engines were located at the rear of the aircraft. I do like how much more leg room I have, granted I was seated in seat 12A, but this seat feels more spacious then continental’s mainline aircraft does. I did get the feeling that I was flying greyhound bus though. I do think I will avoid these flights in the future if possible.

We're watching the Huskers lose badly to the Sooners and then flipping to Texas losing to Tech. I didn't expect the latter though the prior was anticipated. |
