Greetings from rainy So Cal. I drove back from Palm Springs via Glendale (near burn areas). Rain was extremely heavy up against mountains. With 3 more days of rain forecast, I think we may see some flooding/slides.

I saw a discussion about west LA freeways. The 405 had some light flooding near the 10. If that persists into rush hour, the 405 will be jammed all evening.

The main draw back to MLK day is timing. It's too close to Turkey day, Christmas, and New Year. Just as everyone is just starting to get back in the groove, it come along. I think that is the main reason many companies don't take it off, well besides not wanting to pay people for a holiday.
