that is entirely too small, when you make chili you got to make it in a gallon+ soup vat man!

then eat it in various means for the next week. on toast with cheese, in burritos, with rice, etc etc.

+1. Chilli is always better the next day and a coupld days beyond. It's been awhile since I've last made my great chilli.

On Amtrak, headed to DC. Quiet car is so nice. :)

I love the quiet car. It's also the easiest to get a good seat as people traveling together don't want to sit there.

Steak should never be ordered well done. Medium-rare is best. :D^^

I know one person who would only eat it well done and openly admits him having a steak is a waste of money and meat. But he doesn't like steak (likes burgers) so he won't order it at a restaurant unless there's no other option.

Although, my friend commented that my medium-rare steak at Luger's looked like they had merely "walked the cow by the oven" before plating it.

Yes, with the wife and possibly a buddy if he gets off work in time but unlikely. My buddy shouldnt be hard to spot if he shows up as he will probably be doing the Jersey Shore Fist Pump.

Boy, I should post my pictures of the Bistecca alla Fiorentina we had in Tuscany. Nice crust on the outside, cool red on the inside.:-:

Enjoy it!!! ...and get there early. Last night they had most of the good seats roped off for critics. If you got there 20 minutes before the show and needed a few seats together you were either in the very front or very back. One big plus was that we didn't have to sit through 20 minutes of coming attractions.

I really liked how they did the opening credits and the aerial shots. They were all shot with the camera moving over the landscape. The shots moved at about the same speed as you'd see the landscape move when looking out an aircraft window. During the opening credits it was fun to try to recognize the cities by their aerial views. The opening music was also quite well chosen and well done!

The last time I made chili, one of my helpers accidentally used a tablespoon of home-made dried powdered habanero instead of paprika. The resultant product was amazing. Everyone else found it way too hot, so I got to enjoy it all! :p :D

A lunch reservation should be much easier to secure.

Also, do not order a steak well-done. We went there for my birthday last year and this is how the conversation went between my buddy from Chicago and the head waiter:

Lurker Buddy: I'll have a rib steak, well-done with a side of creamed spinach
Waiter: Well-done like my shoe?
Lurker Buddy: Exactly. That sounds perfect.
Waiter: :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I have to concur with others that MedRare is the prefered method for cooking a steak. At the same time the guest is what counts so if they want it well done, they get it well done. No comments needed.

ok expounding on yesterday a bit.
The GA did not want to assign me a seat at all, I was basically flying standby from originally confirmed F in 5A in a 739, which does not exist on the 738. I was never added back ot UG Standby list and I think there was one noshow.

I asked very nicely a few times when I'd have a seat, and did not even get a BP until after general boarding was well on the way.
When I walked through first there were 3 seats still open, and it looks 2 of those showed but 1 did not so another upgrade happened of the person 1st in standby(if they got the seat who knows). the GA was looking to have a very bad day, at one point she was basically brekaing down crying.

when I got the BP I said, is there an ETC with this? She said no this is a decommit and there is no ETC.....ok.

Either this GA didn't know how to handle a decommit or was clueless but you should have been issued a ETC for $200 or $250. Decommits are controllable and you were involuntary downgraded passenger. You also should have been checked in right away and added to the upgrade list. :(

Too bad you and everyone else had to deal with this nonsense. Where was the Red Coat when you need them? I do hope you follow thru with demanding your ETC.
