Many thanks, one and all. She did say yes, and rather tearfully I might add. :D The source of the tears can be found at www.sarahandmichaelsweddingplans.com.

Congratulations ConciergeMike. Now all you need to do is make a hockey fan out of her. Mine was for many years and never missed a game.

Turns out Philly doesn't always suck. It is actually pretty nice here tonight (beautiful sunset over the Schuylkill and free wifi from an apt building nearby). And I ended up not getting blown off for dinner, though it was close.

Congratulations ConciergeMike!

Wow, I'm so glad I took the nonstop DL flight instead of connecting through EWR on CO. The thought that I could still be 3+ hours away from the hotel as tired as I am at this very moment is sobering.

My iPhone is actually able to get on the Internet temporarily so of course I had to stop by the Box.
We have gone a little stir crazy being on the front porch and in the house all day. My office is a complete loss, 3 feet of water after the roof came off. I feel really dirty and I am tired of BBQ (go figure). We've cooked everything in the freezer so it is can goods unless we go buy things day by day. I love Philly and would move there in a heartbeat. |

As for Philly. The areas to live in are - Center City, Northern Liberties, Society Hill and most of the suburbs. Everything else is blah. As for Jersey, there are nice places to live (Cherry Hill is where I wanted to move to at one time), the highest property taxes in the country were/are a deal breaker for me. Leaving Jersey (to go into PA) on one of the 4 DRPA bridges now costs $4. In a couple years it goes to $5. |

Glad to hear you are okay. I just spoke to my fiance, and she went to a BBQ at a co-worker's house that had power. But, I hear the weather is actually nice there for a change. At least she has hot water (heated by gas) and good water pressure. I heard the Heights got hit hard. :(
The roads are halfway cleared in the Heights but there are still streets blocked off. I haven't seen the news or anything and feel significantly cut off. |

Whoever made the crack about Wal-Mart and shotgun shells.....^ :D Funny stuff in the face of a bad situation. There's always a place for laughter. Night all - I have to get used to the idea of going back to work tomorrow. Ugh. |
Congrats, ConciergeMike. Ketel One shots for The Box!:) Or maybe by this time some Bloody Marys.

The Heights did take a beating, but the weather is a great relief.

CM, congrats and welcome back. :-: In other news: what on earth was that "thing" last night. ESPN kept calling it a football game, but it looked more like a train-wreck to me. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go drop my coffee mug 5 feet before I get to the coffee machine. |
I start my job on Oct 6, then I can get back to posting here 6+ times a day!!!
