The Box is a bad influence - I just booked a night at the HP BNA for the evening before my flight to the Hockey Do.

Even though I ate Dinner # 1 mid-afternoon (to stop tasting FluMist) and came off a sedentary weekend, I was still below 200 after racquetball

Perhaps, the rest of teh Box may disagree with me here, and reasonable (or certainly, unreasonable :p) folk can disagree, but whatever you might decide, when purchasing electronics, I have had nothing but good experiences with doing the "open box" purchases. Generally, I have been able to haggle the price way down and get a free store warranty to boot.

I've gotten secondary at every European airport but have been fine with the US and Central America.

And the upper middle class is getting prudent, and staying a little cautious. A old friend's brother has a 2MM handle property in FL that he has been trying to get out from under for 18 months. No bidders.

Between the two of us we're in hell. Though to be fair, I didn't bring anything home and was gone for only 2 days. I would have secondaried me.

Did you end up staying at the Sofitel Queenstown?

I stayed at the St. Moritz. A wee bit away from center of town (still within walking distance). Prior to St. Moritz I was at the Novotel which was part of my tour package and during this time I dropped in the Sofitel and it was quite bland based on the lobby and reception area. The St. Moritz however was quite nice. I stayed there one night, went to Te Anau and then came back for two more nights. Staff was terrific and they took care of our large bags while we were in Te Anau. When we returned they allowed us early check in (around 11:30 am) and our bags were already in our rooms!

Both times they upgraded me to a lakeview suite. I think I'm going to become a Accwhore too now :p. BTW, don't get a room on the 3rd floor (too noisy). The 4th floor is the reception floor as the hotel is built on the side of a hill.

I had no internet today but ...

The secretary upstairs (who had been with us downstairs) must work for LH. I asked for manila file folders and she says "I ordered some". OK. I later go to the supply room and find file folders in blue, purple, and yellow (any perfectly usable) but none of this information was volunteered.

I assume to get more FFNs? I do this too in Vegas. Even though I have a comped room I would book a couple of nights at the HP.

One more FFN for another night at PH Paris Vendome (or HR Madeleine, whichever I can get).

Why would it be volunteered? You specifically asked for a plain, manila folder. If you had wanted color, you should have asked for color. (Put appropriate haughty deference onto response).
