Personally, I would opt for the Hampton Inn, Joplin, Missouri. I've heard good things.

FWIW you earn 3 HH points / $ spent so it might be a bit more accurate to think of 175k HH points as about ~58,000 SPG points.

I'm planning on burning through my HHonors points before the impending devaluation by Hilton and was considering the Conrad Maldives or the Hilton Bora Bora. I've read through the reviews from the Hiilton forum but I was wondering if anyone here had any particular insight or experience (MBM3?) they could offer up. |

Ah, so. I had forgotten that HHonors Amex earns at 3pp$ on regular purchases.

Well, that was interesting. I called UA to update my FFN to CO and add my wife's CO number to our return from PHX. After beating the phone system into submission, I finally got an agent. She was a US based agent and was nice and helpful. The PNRs don't show the updated information yet so I'm hoping it just needs a few minutes or a new session to update.

Thanks MBM3! ^
My thinking was to send the folks over as a way of saying thanks for putting up with 25 years (and counting!) of #@$% from me...but they seemed lukwarm to the idea. Maybe they're secretly lusting after that Hampton Inn, but anyways, both looked fantastic and I'm not sure which one to opt for. Either way 175k + Diamond benefits for 6 nights at either property seems like an awesome deal. Or maybe send them in F for a stay in FCO and VCE. |

I stayed at the Nui when it was a Sheraton (10/2005). What would you like to know, or are still interested in knowing? :-:

I can't comment on hotels because I have never really stayed on land: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3054/...737464c0c5.jpg But like mbm3 said, getting there is not easy. My routes were always via KUL or SIN and every time required a full day in KUL or SIN because the US flights would arrive very early in the am and the MLE flights from KUL and SIN were at night. I think one EK flight arrives at night meaning you have to sleep at airport hotel or ferry over to Male and stay there, and the other EK flight that arrives in the afternoon might be able to connect to: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3025/...052620b122.jpg (They don't fly them at night) |
